Rory MacDonald, Mitch Gagnon Off of UFC 158 Card
Rory MacDonald and Mitch Gagnon are off the UFC 158 card in Montreal due to injury.
Rory MacDonald (14-1) was to fight Carlos Condit on the March 16th card. Reports indicated that MacDonald suffered severe neck and back strain that require a month of rest before resuming training. The fight was to be a rematch of their UFC 115 bout that saw Condit lose two rounds before rebounding in the third to stop MacDonald. Johny Hendricks, who was to face Jake Ellenberger on the same card, will now face Condit. Nate Marquardt will now face Ellenberger.
Mitch Gagnon (9-2) also announced that he sustained an injury. Gagnon was to face Issei Tamura on the Quebec event. Gagnon was eager to fight in the city where he had previously fought so often, but he had to step away due to the injury. While the type of injury has not been made public, Gagnon acknowledges that it is an “injury that puts me out for a while.” TJ Dillashaw will be the replacement opponent for Tamura.
Hey guys, it’s Hendricks who is facing Condit. Ellenberger is facing Nate!
T.J. Dillashaw is replacing Gagnon.
Thanks. Added Dillashaw.
Wow 16 fighters cut from the UFC. Big names too:

No Canadians on the list tho. Clarke and Jimmo are still in the game I think. Hope they can make it thru these deep waters. Tough to stay in the UFC.
I was definitely holding my breath when I heard that a huge number of guys were being cut… glad no Canadians got the axe!
With Mitch gagnon out an ideal replacement would have been josh hill… With the fall of the sfs .. I am sure he and others are chomping at the bit for a fight
Well-loved!
