Battle of the Brads Announced for Xcessive Force Fighting in Grande Prairie
Brad Causey will face Brad Cardinal in a long-awaited ‘Battle of the Brads’ main event at Xcessive Force Fighting Championship in Grande Prairie, Alberta on March 30th.
The two fighters have been rumoured to be facing each other a few times in the past and now they finally will. The last time the two were scheduled to fight was at Rumble in the Cage 43 for a Lightweight title in February 2011. Unfortunately, Causey had to pull out and now Grande Prairie fans will get to see this great Canadian matchup two years later.
Since that time, Causey, who has a 10-2 record, has gone 1-1. “Kama” Causey defeated Daniel Swain in 2011 before losing to top 10 Canadian Jesse Ronson – a loss that ended a seven fight winning streak. The Pride Gym fighter will look to get back on the winning track at Xcessive.
Brad Cardinal, who trains out of CMC Lethbridge under Lee Mein, is 16-8 overall and is unbeaten in his last three bouts. “Bonesaw” Cardinal is coming off a No Contest fight with Chris Horodecki at Score Fighting Series in October 2012. Cardinal had been winning the first round in many fans’ eyes prior to the fight being called off due to an accidental head butt. Prior to that fight, Cardinal finished Tim Skidmore and Travis Briere in quick fashion.
Cardinal and Causey will join other announced fighters Simon Marini, CJ Bagg, Spencer Jebb, Rick Pfeifer, Jarid Bussemakers, and many more on the card.
