Elite 1 has a great card lined up. Let’s be serious for a minute though. The real main event should be arsenault vs macgrath. That is the fight most are anticipating. Out of the 5 fights already named I would have to say the worst one is Johnson vs Fraser and that is their main event lmfao. Elite 1 needs to evaluate their talent a little better. It’s a shame that the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions in the maritimes are so weak because we keep getting guys like fraser and johnson shoved down our throats. Goodall vs Rogers 2 should be interesting this time around as both guys have vastly improved. Rogers has to be more confident in his hands and let them fly in this fight IMO that’s his key to victory. For winners i’ll take Johnson by decision, Arsenault by 2nd rd KO, Hazelton by decision, Keith by 2nd rd tko, and Goodall by split decision.

  7. Jamie Locke says:

Definitly the best card from Elite 1.

They’ve improved every card since that old man gong show way back.

    Fraser
    McGrath
    Hazelton
    Keith
    Goodall

  8. @ClinchCraig says:

Chris Johnson is a local fan favorite and while I agree with “Berealistic” that it’s not the top fight on the card I can understand why Elite1 has made it the main event. In the end who cares what the main event is as long as it’s a solid card. This card is solid with some of the best fighters in the Maritimes facing off.

  9. PUCK says:

Ya plus Chris could win a belt and get back to a .500 record. Must be nice?

  10. This looks like the best Elite 1 card yet.

Eliteones cards keep getting better and better, cant wait to see the rest of the line up, they have a great venue and good promotion cant wait to see how this promotion evolves!

  13. evan blakely says:

Eliteone has made big time improvements over the last couple years, they need to sell tickets and the main event houses two NB fighters – who will probably put some Moncton “butts in seats”. For MMA’s sake its probably not the best main event, but its a business too and they need to hit capacity at the venue.

    Fraser
    MacGrath
    Hazelton
    Currie
Goodall – Rogers; very close contest – staying away from that one…

    Well-loved! Thumb up 13 Thumb down 1

  14. Just Sayin says:

Chris Johnson may have a losing record but his wins and losses speak for themselves, he Beat Skinner to take the belt and schooled Hachey to defend it, and his loss to Fraser the first time, it was a wrong call in my books, Johnson won that fight, and his losses are to some tough opponents as well. I think it will be Johnson, Keith, Arsenault, St-piere, and Goodall … Would be Nice to See Keith and Arsenault both Win and fight for the 170lb Belt!

  15. Diggin says:

When Fraser beats Johnson I would like to see him defend his belt against a guy like Penner. I have not talked to Fraser but I’m sure he would be up for it.

    What do you guys think?

  16. Shane BTP Mountney says:

How about winner of Johnson vs Fraser… fight Cirkunov or Nolan…cpl of the best 205ers in Canada…

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 1

  17. Mike kent says:

I like Fraser , good fighter , but he doesn’t want any part of penner , two completely different worlds

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 3

  18. Mike kent says:

Sorry I will reword that , he may want those fights but way to big of a step up to fight any of those three names . Nolan , misha and penner are three of the toughest fights you’ll find in a Canada

Thumb up 2 Thumb down 4

  19. Shane BTP Mountney says:

Isnt the point Mike as a fighter to test yourself with tough fights…you just did…steel sharpens steal and iron forges iron….i truly believe that there are to many fighters in canada that protect there record by fighting the easy fight…or easier fight…and if your gonna be a champion…i think a champions job is to defend against all that seek his/her title…thats what will define you as a champion and as a fighter…again just my opinion…

Thumb up 3 Thumb down 4

  20. Maritime mma says:

Why won’t elite one put any Nova Scotia fighters on their cards?

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 2

  21. mike Kent says:

yeah I know that Shane and I believe Fraser would fight them and I lobe that elite is bringing in awesome fighters and putting on top notch shows lately . I’m super impressed with how far they’ve come . I also like Chris johnson a lot and think he’s a warrior . But going from Chris johnson in elite one to misha or penner in my mind is jusy too much of a jump. Theres some more middle ground before going right to world class .

  22. Demitri (trev) says:

I would like to see Fraser vs Penner. Penner is coming off a two fight losing streak going out East for this fight. I think Fraser has a shot. Chances may not be high but if fraser wins again now and has a great camp for penner maybe he could surprise. What does he have to lose? Nothing

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 2

  34. Alderic Keith says:

Just wanna say sorry to Chris Curries and the fans. I was really looking forward to this fight on April 20, unfortunately suffered a broken nose last week training. I had planned to fight with it broke anyways at first but after 2 days it was clear that i wouldn’t be able to get the proper training leading to the fight let alone to be able to fight with it. Looking forward to being at 100% and back in the cage fighting. Sorry to hear they were unable to find a replacement for Currie tho

If someone asked me to consider everything I’ve learned over the last 5 years, to take it all into account and identify the definition of a Canadian MMA warrior and pioneer in the 21st century- MATT MACGRATH.

Bad ass. Fearless. Skilled as hell. Fights anyone anywhere anytime.

This is the kind of man we should all strive tobe like.
