Wolfgang Janssen vs. Aaron Armstrong
Round 1: Wolfgang opens the action with a cracking outside leg kick. Both fighters look really relaxed in the cage. Wolfgang charges in and Aaron turns him, pins him up against the cage and starts working for a takedown. Wolfgang scrambles back up to his feet but eats an elbow in the process. Aaron tries again for a takedown but Wolfgang takes his back. Aaron escapes out the back door and the fighters separate. Wolf gang throws a nice hick kick followed by a number of leg kicks. Aaron lands a nice right hand though that drops Wolfgang. From the bottom Wolfgang grabs for an ankle and starts working for a knee bar then transitions to an heel hook. Aaron escapes and stands back up stacking Wolfgang who is still on his back. Wolfgang grabs a foot again Aaron jumps out of there letting Wolfgang back up. Wolfgang throws a knee to Aaron’s midsection but Aaron catches it and takes Wolfgang down. From top position Aaron lands some really hard shots that shake the cage and likely win him the round. This is an incredibly close and exciting fight. Top MMA News scores the round 10-9 Aaron Armstrong

Round 2: Wolfgang charges in recklessly and Aaron takes him down with a double leg. Wolfgang bounces up quickly but Aaron puts him right back down. Wolfgang stands up but Aaron takes his back and starts landing knees to Wolfgang’s thigh. Somehow Wolfgang jumps up and over Aaron landing on his shoulders. As Aaron drops to the ground Wolfgang secured a reverse triangle choke forcing Aaron to tap. That was one of the most unique and impressive submissions I’ve ever seen!

Mike Davis vs. Adam Bodwell
Round 1: Mike lands a nice straight left to open the action. Adam is looking really nervous and amped up. Mike lands a nice side kick to the body and Adam is swinging wildly. The fighters clinch up and Mike starts creeping around to Adam’s back. Mike eventually takes Adam’s back and drags Adam down to the mat. From a really high back-mount Mike starts working for an arm bar then quickly transitions to an triangle choke giving up top position. The choke looks really tight but Adam is surviving. Eventually Mike hooks the leg and forces the tap. This fight was a mismatch.
Mike Davis submits Adam Bodwell by Triangle Choke in Round 1, 3:36

Dia Grant vs. Curtis Blackmore
Round 1: Curtis charges Dia with a wild swinging punch. Dia easily ducks the punch and takes Curtis down with a double leg. From guard Curtis starts working for a guillotine but Dia doesn’t appear to be an any danger and he pops out. Dia starts to stand up but Curtis draws him back in and attempts a triangle choke but Dia escapes. Dia finally starts throwing some strikes from top position slowing down Curtis’s submission attempts. Dia is starting to land a lot more elbows and punches to the body now and Curtis is looking exhausted. Dia passes  to half mount and starts hammering Curtis with repeated right elbows. Referee Brian Beauchamp has seen enough and calls a halt to the fight.
Dia Grant defeats Curtis Blackmore by TKO (Elbows and Punches) in Round 1, 4:25

Matt Krayco vs. Chris Mattock
Round 1: Matt opens the action with an inside leg kick that connects. He then moves in and throws a combination but Chris defends well and the fighters clinch up. Chris pulls guard but Matt stands right back up. Matt lands a great left hook right uppercut combination and the fighters clinch up against the cage. Chris drags Matt down but Matt recovers and gains top position. From guard though Chris is working for an arm choke. Chris locks in an arm triangle from guard forcing Matt to tap out.
Chris Mattock submits Matt Krayco by Arm Triangle in Round 1, 2:11

Dusty Kramps vs. Cody Evans
Round 1: Dusty looks a lot bigger than Cody in the cage. Dusty lands a great side kick but Cody catches the kick and uses it to take Dusty down. Dusty powers up from guard reversing Cody. From top position Dusty easily passes to mount and starts working for a arm triangle. Dusty’s size advantage is definitely a factor in this fight. After locking in the triangle Dusty passes into side control and finishes the submission.
Dusty Kramps submits Cody Evans by Arm Triangle in Round 1, 1:46

Dan Westbrook vs. Donovan Hack
Round 1: Donovan opens the round with a great stiff jab followed by and vicious combination that drops Dan. Donovan lets Dan back up and the fighters exchange again, this time both fighters are landing furiously. Donovan ends up getting the better of Dan and scores a knockdown quickly passing into side control. From side control Donovan lands a few knees to the body then starts working for a choke. Dan uses the choke attempt to turn Donovan securing top position. From guard Donovan throws his legs up with a triangle attempt and locks it in. The choke doesn’t look tight enough to threaten Dan with submission but Donovan uses the choke attempt to improve his position to mount before the round ends. Top MMA News scores the round 10-9 Donovan Hack

Round 2: Donovan starts off strong with a huge number of punches but Dan defends most of them. Dan does look a little dazed though but I’m not sure how much gas Donovan has left in the tank after that barrage of strikes. Dan desperately lands a couple of knees to Donovan’s body but Donovan returns the favour. Dan attempts a takedown but Donovan easily stuffs it and locks in a guillotine choke forcing Dan to tap.

I have no clue what Matt Krayco tapped to, his arm was in and there was enough open room on one side of Krayco from the “headlock” like hold for a 10month old baby to crawl through. I think he panicked or something cuz there was no way that there was a fight finishing submission on him,

Some kind of weird guillotine/arm triangle combo… but no, definitely did not look deep enough to get the tap!

  20. Robin Black says:

Off topic but WARDOG looked GREAT in his fight!

His opponent, an undefeated heavyweight top prospect, was awarded a knockdown improperly. Without that error the scorecards would have been a draw.

Both Craig and Shane were absolute class acts about the scores but Craig got a L instead of a hard earned D. But like I said handled it with class.

Great hangin with you guys last night good times!

  22. Jerobe says:

Mike Davis you really should be ashamed of yourself. You are the Unified 125 lb Champion. You know full well that Bodwell is a bum who does a few pushups and thinks he can fight. I realize he called you out and wanted to fight you, I also realize you want to stay active. But beating up on a bum like Bodwell does nothing for you. Arashi Do Red Deer is a team full of some of the best trained fighters in Alberta, Gary Vig is one of the best coaches in Alberta. Shame on you Mike, however I look forward to watching you defend your title against a worthy 125 lb fighter because your really really good.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 15 Thumb down 13

  23. Donald Duck says:

Jerobe, you have to realize there is seriously no one at 125 who is willing and able to give Mike a challenge. As soon as someone shows up on the scene who could provide that threat then Mike will have to just stay active.

  30. smash says:

Hey Louden!!! Good to see you… Hows the Shoot??

Anyways, I hear Turner is goin down to 125 too! That makes for some interesting possibilities. I would love to see Wooley vs Turner at 125!! However I know Wooley’s camp has been beggin for that fight for over a year now, I doubt Turner’s management would let it happen.

If ppl would step up Wooley would already have 2 of 3 fights at flyweight!
