Top Ranked Canadian Females Kaufman and Davis Set To Make Return at Invicta FC 4


Sarah Kaufman Returns at Invicta FC 4

The undisputed #1 and #2 ranked Canadian Females will make their return to the cage at Invicta FC 4 at a yet to be determined date in January in Kansas City. The #2 ranked Alexis Davis will take on  Shayna Baszler in a Bantamweight contest and Sarah Kaufman, the #1 ranked female in Canada will take an a yet to be announced opponent also in the Bantamweight division.

Davis will take on Baszler in a rematch of their March 2010 bout. Davis dropped a close decision to Baszler at FCF 40 in Oklahoma. Since that loss Davis has compiled a record of 5-2 while defending her Raging Wolf Women’s Flyweight Title twice against Tonya Evinger and also has wins over Julie Kedzie, Amanda Nunes and Hitomi Akano in that time. Baszler is in the midst of a 5-1 streak in which she has captured titles in Freestyle Cage Fighting and The Cage Inc. Baszler’s only loss in the last three years has been to rising prospect Sarah McMann.

Sarah Kaufman, who’s opponent has yet to be announced will enter this bout coming off a loss to arguably the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in all of Women’s MMA, Ronda Rousey. Kaufman became the 9th woman to fall victim to the deadly Rousey armbar in their August 2012 bout. Rousey was only the second woman to defeat Kaufman who holds 15 victories in her MMA career including wins over Valerie Letourneau, Miesha Tate, Shayna Baszler, Liz Carmouche and a pair of wins over Alexis Davis, the most recent being one of the most entertaining women’s fights of all time!
