Tyler Kinghorn vs. Liam McGowan
Round 1: The fighters touch gloves and then almost immediately Liam lands a right hand that drops Tyler. As Liam moves in for the finish the referee Vern Gorman stops the fight before any illegal strikes to the head of a grounded opponent were landed. This time Randy charges forward with strikes but nothing lands and Mike clinches up and takes him down. Mike passes easily in to side control but Randy reverses him and finishes the round on top. Because of all the illegal manoeuvres the only thing to really judge in this fight was the final exchange.

I can count on one hand how many punches you threw. Great job hope your proud of your self you always break the rules in the cage and at grappling tournaments and flex after laying on everyone. I laugh at comments like these. You guys are just pissed that your boy lost. This is mixed martial arts. Your boy new Keegan would take him down. Maybe he should of learned to work off his back or how to stand up. Not to mention pfiefer initiated some o the clinches and takedowns. Guess he should work on his top control. Ya there was smack talking going, but it was from both sides. Plus Keegan landed more strikes than pfiefer. Also the most significant strikes. A nice knee in the clinch and a solid right hook. The fact pfiefer got a split decision was a gift. The first round was close, but 2 and 3 were definitely Oliver’s.

Keep complaining I hear if you complain enough the official decision will be changed, o wait no it won’t. Keegan was taken down to but he reversed him. Maybe the ginger should work on his guard or takedown defence? Also Keegan had some stiff jabs and a nice knee in there and he did nothing illegal. 4-0 Keegan! awesome job bro! :D

Fuck really I’m not insulting the fight or his game plan at all its how he talks shit during and after the fight and yells hit me than dives for a ankle like a desperate person scared to get hit. I’m not mad when team loses but how he a ya drives me nuts personally and he talks smack about me I can cause its fighting and we are fighters. Just guy pisses me off we have a history and he punched a friend in the face in a BJJ tournamanet like the distpectful person he is and would kill to put him in his place.

  13. Slim says:

I personally think it’s brilliant of Keegan to goad his opponent into throwing an obvious strike so he can take you down. That seems like a perfect game plan.

Not to mention with the Calgary Commission’s amateur rules and their sheer lack of knowledge about the sport in general (or common sense for that matter), if you’re on top you’re winning. I can see how someone with an understanding of the sport would go one way but the judges go the other …it’s not like we haven’t seen that before at a UFC event in Calgary…

I was actually pretty surprised to hear spilt desicion. I thought I lost all 3 rounds I could not get the kid off of me. Shitty way to win but he won. Hope to meet again as pros . I think the fight would go way different

I’m new to this conversation but from the outside this:

“I personally think it’s brilliant of Keegan to goad his opponent into throwing an obvious strike so he can take you down. That seems like a perfect game plan. ”

    sounds really smart.

Also, if you are winning and pissing people off you gotta keep doin what you’re doin until they stop you.

(Just be aware that when they stop you its gonna hurt a lot and people are going to celebrate you getting hurt a lot.)

    Good times.

Keegan is my teammate and I have a lot of respect for Rick Pfiefer. I was looking forward to their fight and I enjoyed it. Everyone knows Keegan is relentless with his takedowns, I thought Pfiefer did a good job defending them, countering them and throwing in his own takedowns. The two of them switched positions and control on the ground several times. I can appreciate a good technical ground fight…didn’t find their fight boring at all.

Congrats to both on a hard fought fight.
