Why would the main event have significant impact on the Bantamweight Rankings when it was a Catchweight fight?

The Bantamweight division is 126lbs-135lbs… just because they agreed to meet at 130lbs doesn’t mean it’s not a Bantamweight fight!

Best wishes to Mike Davis, unfortunate illegal knee to the head. Congrats to all the winners tonight at Unified 13. Another great night of fights. Lots of talent and heart was evident throughout the card, especially Tanner Bosman, that was an all out war, and you won.

Speaking as Eric’s striking coach, what happened was that Eric thought he timed Mike coming up from a grounded position – but Mike was clearly still grounded. The referee immediately took two points off Eric, and then when Mike couldn’t continue (and full respect to Mike, he took a hard, unexpected knee and it was the doctor’s decision to call the fight, which was probably the right call), Eric was rightly DQ’d.

Eric feels really badly about that – he’s not a dirty fighter, as anyone who’s fought or trained with him knows, he made a mistake, and knows he deserved the DQ.

And it should have nothing to do with bantam weight rankings. Eric’s not ranked anymore at bantam, Mike is a 125 pounder who agreed to a catchweight fight at 130 because Eric didn’t have time to make 125, and Eric is going to be fighting at 125 from now on too.

First of all would like to apologize to all the fans and people who came out. Not how a fight should end.

Eric Wilson is a great guy and one of the nicest guys I have met in this sport, there is no way he meant to do that it was a accident. The guy is not a dirty fighter and feel so bad for him having a loss on his record for something like that. Sorry man I really am. I do not ever want to win like that I feel sick to my stomach that it ended so bad.

^^100% Agree, rematch at 125 lbs for title^^

Hats off to Biggs on another quick KO win. People need to start watching this guy 4-0, 3 first round finishes. Would love to see Rocky Biggs vs Ryan Dickson two 4-0 guys with opposite styles from respected gyms!!!

Eric was putting the pressure to Mike big time,

IMO a rematch for Dec would be great and much needed.

  13. E-town MMA says:

Rocky lucky punch Biggs has natural skill but lets see him fight a good 170lbs match up.

Mike Davis will lose the belt @125 against Wilson.

All in all it was a great card!!!!!!

Yeah anyone who watched Biggs vs Larkin knows Larkin won that fight. Larkin is a great fighter and Biggs held his own with him in a very close fight. Larkin is good fighter, but man he needs a new fucking haircut lol
