From top position Adam starts reining down a flurry of punches and Curtis curls up. Adam is working hard for a finish and he eventually gets it. There referee gave Curtis plenty of time to improve his position.

Amateur Fights
Cody Brown vs. Trent House
Round 1: These fighters had a great stare down. I’m excited for this fight. Trent lands a couple of leg kicks and a great body head combination to get things started. Tent lands a kick that was deflected downwards to Cody’s groin and the referee stops the fight. The action resumes and Trent goes back to landing crisp punches and hard leg kicks. Trent lands a hard right hand and tries to clinch up but Cody backs off. Cody really needs to let his hands go. Cody throws a left cross but Trent skillfully counters with a right cross of his own. John Young vs. Austin Ryan
Round 1: John shoots in for a takedown but Austin reverses him and lands in top position. Austin passes to half mount and starts moving John towards the cage. Austin is landing shots to the body while working to pass into full mount. Austin passes but with no punches to the face of a grounded opponent allowed in amateur fights he doesn’t have a lot of options. Austin escapes but John recovers top position before the round ends.

Round 2:  Austin lands a nice right hand to John’s chin and follows it up with a couple of hard leg kicks.  Austin lands a nice jab then another leg kick. John is looking really tentative now on his feet. Austin steps in and John covers up before Austin even throws a punch. Austin capitalizes by landing a hard clean right hook behind Johns guard dropping him to the mat. Austin pounces and starts landing hard shots to John’s body and the referee stops the fight. John was complaining about an early stoppage but I thought John looked finished.
Austin Ryan defeats John Young by Technical Knock Out in Round 2, 1:30

Adam Wills vs. Jermark Bradey
Round 1: Jermark starts things off by landing a really hard body kick. Both fighters are circling and defending really well. Jermark looks pretty amped up though so I’m curious if he can keep up his really high level of intensity. Jermark rushes in attempting to lock up with Adam but Adam defends well. Jermark pins Adam up against the cage. Adam’s landing a lot of shots to Jermark’s body from against the cage though. There was not a lot of damage delt this round. It was very close, Adam edges out Jermark with those body shots from against the cage.

Round 2: Jermark opens this round with a flying knee that misses but then lands a powerful body shot. Adam responds with a punch that causes Jermark to stumble back. Jermark recovers almost instantly and starts pinning Adam against the cage. Adam pulls guard with a tight guillotine. Eventually Jermark pops his head out though and lands a few shots to Adam’s body. Adam throws his legs up for a triangle but Jermark easily shucks it off and in a scramble both fighters stand back up and Adam lands a powerful knee to Jermark’s groin. Adam lands a nice body kick before the fighters lock up in the centre of the cage. The fighters separate and lock up again before Adam pulls guard. This was another really close round.

Round 3: Jermark charges in for a take down with a ton of intensity. I’m amazed Jermark hasn’t slowed down. Jermark starts working for a high crotch takedown then gives it up. Adam is constantly working for a guillotine and decides to pull guard with a guillotine attempt but Jermark is free before the fighters hit the mat. Jermark passes into side control quickly but Adam locks him up and reverses Jermark finishing the round in top position.

Congrats on the big win Mike!! Never had you an underdog for obvious reasons. All these guys from Manitoba did but you showed them. Huge props to Denatale for accepting this fight when it looked like Mike would be without another opponent.

@robin black – no worries on tapology i was a 9-1 underdog against Arnett and i was a 9-1 under dog against auggie too. I always had great wrestling and decent hands but early on had problems putting everything together, every day every fight i try to learn something new that can help me along. Thanks everyone who supported me

Is he a member of 10th planet? What credentials does he have to be a coach in Brandon MB? Just curious.
I’m not taking a dig at the guy or anything. I don’t know him. But I’ve been on these forums for a while and I’ve read things about him.

Just wondering where he train? Who’s his coach etc?
Perhaps if he had a coach instead of being called the coach at such a early time in his career, he’d be over .500

All good points to ask him, I agree him having a MMA coach and not just ju jitsu coaching would be very helpful to him
