Brad “The Bonesaw” Cardinal to Face Horodecki in New Headline Bout at The Score Fighting Series

TORONTO, October 5th, 2012 –The Score Fighting Series (SFS) today announced a new headline clash for its upcoming event at the RBC Centre in Sarnia on Friday, October 19th, with Brad “The Bonesaw” Cardinal set to face Chris Horodecki in a 150 catchweight contest. Cardinal hails from Calgary, Alberta, and replaces Kalvin Hackney whose fight prep has been disrupted by illness.

Cardinal (16-8) has been victorious in his two outings and has earned a reputation as a finisher with only one of his 16 victories coming via decision. He is expected to prove a tough opponent for London, Ontario, featherweight Horodecki (18-4), who is currently honing his skills at the Tristar gym in Montreal.

There will be some added spice to this encounter, with Horodecki eyeing payback for his Adrenaline Training Centre teammate Jesse Gross, who was controversially beaten by Cardinal back in May 2011 at a Wreck MMA event.

Cardinal is the latest addition to a thrilling card, which also includes an explosive welterweight clash between Sergej Juskevic and Gerald “The Machine” Meerschaert. Lithuanian Juskevic (11-7) returns to action after an epic TKO battle against Forrest Petz in Hamilton in March – a bout which many believe was the greatest ever witnessed inside an SFS cage.

uskevic can expect to face a very well rounded opponent in Meerschaert (15-5). “The Machine” has finished 80% of his fights by submission and trains out of Milwaukee under striking coach extraordinaire Duke Roufus. He joins Roufusport teammate Rick Glenn on the card.

The updated card is as follows:

Main card
· Chris Horodecki vs. Brad Cardinal
· John Fraser vs. Tyler Toner
· Lyndon Whitlock vs. Rick Glenn
· Sergej Juskevic vs. Gerald Meerschaert
· Jesse Gross vs. Seiji Sugiman-Marangos

· Jason Meisel vs. Eric Attard
· Joel Paquette vs. Allan Wilson

· Brett Biederman vs. Josh Taveirne

The main card will be televised live in Canada on theScore Television Network and in the US on AXS TV beginning 10:00pm EST. Tickets start at $29.95 and can be purchased through the RBC Centre box office and

Can’t wait to see cardinal fight Chris…but I’ve got Horodecki by KO…Brad won’t be able to handle Horodecki’s relentless pressure and badass striking…

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 4 Thumb down 5

  3. CM says:

I like Horodecki but he hasn’t KO’d anybody in a long time. 7 of his 1st 8 fights were by KO/TKO but he hasn’t had one since & that’s going back to 2006.

Chris Horodecki is a great fighter, but not having Fraser as the main event in his hometown doesn’t make sense – Fraser’s fight will be 1000x more entertaining…same with Paquette being a prelim – who thought that made sense? Last year at the first meltdown, it might have been a shitty result, but it was the 2nd best fight that night

@gus, why would you put an 0-1 fighter on the main card? a better question is, who would you take off the main card to put in paquette/wilson?
