A pair of hard hitting Middleweights will meet in the Octagon at UFC 154 in Montreal. Patrick “The Predator” Cote, Canada’s top Middleweight will take on Italian slugger Alessio “Legionarius” Sakara. UFC officials confirmed the matchup which will take place on the November 17 event.

After being released from the UFC following three straight losses to Tom Lawlor, Alan Belcher and Anderson Silva, Cote went on a four fight win streak that earned him a return trip to the big show. Cote fell short however, dropping a lop sided decision to Cung Le at UFC 148 in Brazil. Cote holds notable UFC victories over Ricardo Almeida, Drew McFedries, Kendall Grove and Scott Smith.

The knockout artist, Alessio Sakara comes into the bout on a two fight slide to top contenders Brian Stann and Chris Weidman. Prior to his most recent losses, Sakara won three straight including an upset over Thales Leites. Sakara lives and dies by the knockout, with four of his six UFC victories ending via strikes, finishing James Irvin, Joe Vedepo, James Lee and Victor Valimaki.

Cote by KO in first round. Cote has heavy hands and great chin. Sakara is very tcchnical but seems to have a weak chin.

And I disagree about lopsided decision vs Cung Le. I had the fight pretty close. But maybe I was biased in favour of the Canadian.

All I know it Cote looked terrible in the Le fight. For a guy who was itching to be back in the UFC, he looked uninspired. He had better put on a clinic this fight.

Sakara is more technical but is going to get hit at least once, and probably get knocked out, seems to happen alot to him.
