Dickson Victorious in Chicago
Ryan Dickson (3-0), a protegé of UFC veteran Jeff Joslin, scored a big win last night in Chicago submitting his American opponent Jason Graves (2-2) via rear naked choke at 1:46 of round one. The fight was part of Flawless Fighting Championship’s debut card which also featured UFC veteran Jake O’Brien besting Miodrag Petkovic over three rounds to earn a unanimous decision. This fight was a long time coming as Dickson had been itching to return to the cage since his March 16th fight with Brandon Johnson was cancelled and other south of the border options had fallen through.
This fight worked right into Dickson’s BJJ skills as Dickson was able to secure the takedown early in the round and quickly worked his way to mount. Graves turned to avoid Dickson’s strikes from mount which allowed Dickson to quickly latch on the fight ending guillotine at the 1:46 mark.
The Joslin MMA prospect will now make a quick turn around as he is set to compete on the Score Fighting Series card scheduled for August 25th in his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. Dickson will take on OAMA team member Chris St Jean (4-3) in a battle of Ontario Welterweight prospects.
