Hominick Set to Face Garza at UFC 154 in Montreal

By:

Mark HominickMark “The Machine” Hominick will look to end a three fight losing streak inside the Octagon when he takes on Pablo “The Scarecrow” Garza at UFC 154 in Montreal. The news was posted on the UFC Canada Facebook page which also confirmed a Middleweight bout between Francis Carmont and Tom Lawlor.

Hominick may be on a short leash with the promotion in this fight. After earning a title shot following a four fight win streak between UFC and WEC, Hominick lost a spirited decision to Jose Aldo for the Featherweight Title. Hominick’s following fights were also a disappointment as he fell to Chan Sung Jung in a record tying, 7 second knockout before dropping a split decision to the unheralded Eddie Yagin in his most recent bout.

Garza is coming off a pair of losses himself and could find himself on the chopping block as well if he can’t come away with a victory. After a 2-0 start to his UFC career with wins over Fredson Paixao and Yves Jabouin, Garza found himself on the losing end of a pair of bouts against Dustin Poirier and Dennis Bermudez.
