    Let me get this straight:

Matt Baker 7-3 fought Brandon MacArthur 6-21

    and

Ryan Chiappe 8-7 fought Dave Logan 1-10??

    Are you f**king kidding me??

When will these fighters realize that having these guys on their records at this point in their careers is WORSE than losing to them?? When any credible promoter looks at their record and sees them taking fights like these, they know that it’s only to pad their records.

    EMBARRASSING

Yo Brandon, when you start to accept the fact that your record is a DIRECT reflection of your worth in this sport, maybe you will stop being taken advantage of. I think you’re a tough fighter and probably very gifted. However, with that being said, somebody, whether it was you or whoever your manager was, royally f*cked up your career.

Maybe you should take a stand and start telling promoters that you want to build your record and that you deserve to pad yours for a bit. And don’t feed me the bullshit about “I only take tough fights” because that will only go for so long. You will eventually be flagged by a commission as taking too many losses and/or too experienced and won’t be allowed to fight anymore. What you should be doing is gatekeeping for organizations. If young bucks want to come up and see what mma is all about, you should be the measuring mark as to what it takes to be in there.

There’s no disrespect here, only honesty. You DESERVE to have a record that reflects your skill level. Not be a pad on someone’s record. Quit being so goddamn stubborn and listen to people once in awhile and stop pretending everyone is out to see you fail.

  5. Blake says:

“gatekeeper”= determines if a fighter is ready for A level competition or ‘the big show’

“Tomato can”= determInes if a fighter should be competing in the sport

MacArthur is a can. Managers, promoters and fighters think of him when looking for an easy win on their record.

His explanation of the fight reminds me of Tank Abbott’s ufc greatest hits DVD, where according to him, he has never lost a fight, in his opinion, quite funny

No,The Canadians just underestimated Vom Baur. He gets on top of the opponent and he just dominates. He was an NCAA Division 1 wrestler and Canadians just do not have exposure to these types of fighters.

  8. Troy says:

how someone 8-7 and former KOTC champ can fight someone 1-10 is beyond me. What commission would allow that is just stupid. Logan has been finished every time in those 10 loses as well…

I am all for someone wanting to fight but the commission has to step in before someone gets hurt.
