Fraser and Hill to Headline August 25th Hamilton Card Live on The Score
(SFS PRESS RELEASE)
TORONTO, July 18, 2012 – The Score Fighting Series returns to Hamilton, Ontario on August 25th with one of the most anticipated fights in Canadian MMA history headlining the card. Rising stars John “Haggis Basher” Fraser and Josh Hill, Canada’s top two bantamweights not currently competing in the UFC, will go head-to-head at Hamilton Place Theatre.
Fraser (10-3) is a native of Sarnia, Ontario and is on a seven fight win streak. Hill (8-0) hails from Stoney Creek, Ontario and has a perfect professional record of 8-0.
Hill is renowned for his incredible athleticism, solid striking and dominant wrestling. Fraser has developed a reputation for his relentless attacking style and for finishing fights, with nine of his wins coming via submission. The two share a mutual opponent in Eric Wilson, who Hill dominated en route to a unanimous decision victory at The Score Fighting Series in March of this year, while Fraser submitted Wilson in May 2011.
“Both John and Josh were on the first fight card we produced as part of The Score Fighting Series and both have perfect records inside our cage,” said The Score Fighting Series promoter Brendan Fyfe. “Stylistically I think they will bring out the best in each other. As a fan I couldn’t be more excited about this fight.”
This fight has been talked about in MMA circles for years, with the fighters themselves looking forward to it perhaps more than anyone.
Hill said: “I’m very excited to be back fighting for The Score Fighting Series in my hometown of Hamilton again, and I’m even more excited to be part of the main event against a top caliber fighter like John Fraser.“
Fraser added: “This is the fight that everyone been asking for a battle between two top ranked Canadians and I am pleased to give the fans what they want.”
For the first time ever, fights from the main card will be carried live on theScore Television Network, with every fight streamed live on theScore.com. More fights will be announced shortly, with SFS veterans Will Romero, Alex Ricci, Lyndon Whitlock and Tristan Johnson all scheduled to appear.
Tickets for The Score Fighting Series event start at $30 and are on sale from Monday, July 23rd at the Copps Coliseum box office and online at www.ticketmaster.ca.

Hate to see any one of these guys lose but I’m giving a slight edge to the Haggis Basher. He’s a finisher but it will be tough to finish Josh Hill. I’m thinking Fraser by UD.

Ok Guys, this just in. I Just got off the phone with Brendan Fyfe, and he neglected to say something very important about this fight.
Hill vs Fraser is not just a regular fight, its going to be an MMA Ladder match!!! The ladder will be in the center of the octagon and a 3 fight deal with the UFC will be suspended directly above. First one to grab it wins.

Ladder match humor
There is nothing funny about a ladder match. That’s some serious stuff.
I say Hill takes this easy.

I agree with Marc-Andre. Hill will dominate all aspects. Waaay better striker, better technical wrestler, better jits, better cardio, or maybe equal cardio.
