Rolly Delorme to Welcome Bibiano Fernandes to the UFC

By:

Fresh off an upset victory over Nick Denis, Roland Delorme will take on Bibiano Fernandes in his UFC debut in Calgary on July 21.

Delorme (8-1) is unbeaten in the UFC with two victories – both by submission. The Winnipeg fighter’s latest win was over fellow Canadian Nick Denis this past May on the UFC on Fox 3 card. He will hope to make it three in a row at UFC 149.

Fernades (11-3) is the reigning DREAM Bantamweight champion. The one time Featherweight champion lost that belt and entered the DREAM Bantamweight tournament where he defeated Takafumi Otsuka, Rodolfo Marques and Antonio Banuelos to win the title. Fernandes trains out of British Columbia.

Top MMA News asked Rolly for his thoughts on this bout. The WAMMA fighter sent this comment,

“I have made a name beating guys that I was not supposed to beat. Why stop now?  I fight my best when someone’s trying to hurt me.”

The two fighters join a long list of Canadians on the card including Claude Patrick, Ryan Jimmo, Mitch Gagnon, Nick Ring, Antonio Carvalho, Chris Clements, and Mitch Clarke.

It’ seems that people always say that it is a bad fight for Delorme. Yet Roland always comes out on top. Is it a tough fight? Yes it is! Is it a bad fight? No it is not! Unfortunately in the UFC they are all tough fights! I said it before and I will say it again. Never count out Roland Delorme!

Great fight. Likely end up a striking battle. I don’t think Rolly would succeed on the ground, should be a gooder.

  11. Sweet Dreams says:

I have to disagree on one point Mr. Locke; Rolly can succeed on the ground. A Black Belt in Judo, a Brown Belt from Mr. Brigham, 15 years of grappling experience, and a proven track record of finishing fights support this claim. I do concur it will be a great fight and it’s awesome to see all the comments on this post. Go WAMMA!
