Cote Returns to the UFC; Faces Le at 148

According to reports from MMAJunkie, Patrick Cote (17-7) has agreed to return to the UFC. After reeling off four wins outside of the promotion, the Predator will face Cung Le (7-2) at UFC 148. The spot opened when Rich Franklin was pulled from his fight with Le to face Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147.

Since being released by the UFC, Cote, a one time UFC Middleweight title contender, has defeated Kalib Starnes, Todd Brown, Crafton Wallace, and Gustavo Machado. He defeated Wallace and Machado both in the first round. Cote has been looking for a return to the UFC and now he finally will on July 7 in Las Vegas.

Cung Le is a former Strikeforce middleweight champ who has lost his sole UFC bout. In that fight, Le was stopped by Wanderlei Silva in the second round at UFC 139.

The Le vs Cote bout joins a stacked UFC 148 card that includes two title bouts and the Forrest Griffin vs Tito Ortiz rubber match.

Interesting match up! I think it’s a closer fight than Franklin would have been. If chubby Cung from the Wandi fight shows up, Cote should eat him up…

IMO Cote will eat him up no matter what Le looks like.
