Mein Takes On Stinson At Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy


Strikeforce announced today that Canada’s fourth ranked Welterweight Jordan “Young Gun” Mein will lock horn with Tyler “The Evolution” Stinson (23-8) at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Kennedy.

Mein will look to bounce back after a disappointing decision loss to undefeated Tyron Woodley this past January. Prior to the loss Mein was riding an impressive 6 fight win streak, 5 of which he earned in his during his incredible 2011 campaign with wins over the likes of Marius Zaromskis, Joe Riggs and Evangelista Santos.

Stinson, will also look to return to the win column as he suffered a decision loss to Tarec Saffiedine on the same January card as Mein. The similarities with Mein don’t stop there, he also had a tremendous 2011 campaign defeating the likes of Eduardo Pamplona and Nate James. A Bellator veteran, other notable wins on his resume include Jerome Martinez, Drew Fickett and Leonardo Pecanha.

Strikeforce: Rockhald vs. Kennedy goes down July 14 at Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Ore. The card can be viewed exclusively in Canada on Super Channel. Other announced fights include Robbie Lawler vs. Lorenze Larkin, Keith Jardine vs. Roger Gracie and Jason High vs. Nate Moore.

    Funny that you can see a show of Strikeforce quality for as little as $40 USD (which is like $20 bucks CND these days) while local shows filled with Ammys can cost as much as $60 just to walk through the door.
