Matt Veal vs Will Romero
Rd1: Veal starts off as the aggressor launching 2 big overhands at Romero who blocks them. Veal bull rushes Romero but receives a right hand for his troubles. Veal lands a big body kick on Romero. Veal flurries forward misses with the punches but gets Romero to the mat with a double leg. Romero doing a great job tying up Veal’s hands off his back. Veal landing some solid hammerfists but Romero has some nasty elbows off his back. Romero throws up the legs looking for the arm bar but Veal shucks them off.

Rd2: both men collide at center ring each landing a solid right hand. Veal is able to take Romero to the canvas briefly but Romero pops right back up. Veal lands A big right and fakes the shot which has Romero Sprawling who eats a Veal shin on the way back up. Romero is able to take Veal’s back while standing but can’t do anything. With it. Big standing knee from Romero rocks Veal. Romero goes for a big uppercut lands but Veal comes over top with a right hand that connects. Another big right superman punch from Veal floors Romero who just barely makes it back to his feet. Romero fires back and floors Veal with a right hook, VeL makes it back to his feet but Romero swarms all over him with ferocious punches and big knees from the plum, the ref gives Veal every chance to recover but Romero continues the onslaught and the ref jumps in to halt the abuse. Great back and fourth round.

Nick Kirk vs Bo Harris
Rd1: Both guys starting off very tentative, Harris connects with the first big shots of the fight. Kirk retaliates with a big kick that almost topples Harris. Kirk attacks with leg kicks and Harris fires right back. Kirk misses with huge over hand haymaker right at the bell.

Rd2: Kirk coming out more aggressive in the second. Harris forces the fight against the cage but can’t hold Kirk there. Kirk doing a good job moving in and out the pocket using the keg kick to set up the jab. Harris lands a good overhand. Harris seems to have Kirk’s timing now firing 2 punches for every one of Kirk’s. Harris doing a great job throwing punches in bunches not landing them all but pressing the action well. Harris lands a big up kick at the horn and Kirk is walking back to his corner on wobbly legs.

Rd3: Harris attacks right at the bell with a big punch but Kirk fires right back. Kirk muscles Harris to mat but Harris closes his guard and is doing. A phenomenal job of controlling Kirk’s hands. The fight is restarted for non action and Harris just misses a head kick off the restart. Kirk lands a solid right cross. Lots of feints, circling and missed shots start to make the crowd restless. Harris smacks Kirk with solid right hand. 10 second marker and no one lands a strike.

Harris defeats Kirk via Unanimous Decision (29-28,29-28,29-28)

Akihiro Gono vs Michael Chandler
Rd1: Chandler using a lot of feints trying to catch Gono off guard and it works Chandler lands a big left, right combo that stuns Gono and a big overhand right puts Gono on his butt, Chandler follows him down unloading with an onslaught of lunches until Yves Lavigne jumps in to save Gono from further abuse.
Chandler defeats Gono via TKO (punches) @ :56 of Rd1

Ben Saunders vs Bryan Baker
Rd1: Lots of swinging with little landing to start us off. Saunders gets Baker in the Thai plum but can’t complete for the barrage of knees. The fighters are tied up against the cage and Baker scoops Saunders up and deposits him on the mat. Saunders tries to lock up the triangle then tradition to an arm bar but Baker escapes. Baker again muscles Saunders to the mat and escapes another triangle. Baker lands some ground and pound but Saunders quick hips cinch in a triangle and straight arm bar that looks tight but Baker fights through and muscles out of it. Back against the cage Baker is looking for a single leg takedown but is only able to get Saunders down to one knee, Baker jumps his back but the round closes out before he can exploit the position.

Rd2: Baker really working the leg kicks. Baker backs Saunders up with a barrage of punches. Baker pushes Saundes against the cage but Saunders retaliates with a throw that puts Baker on the canvas briefly. Back against the fence Baker is looking for the high crotch but can’t finish. Saunders traps Baker in the Thai plum lands 3 knees before Baker escapes. Baker ducks under a right, left combo and forces the action back against the cage. Saunders turns but Baker is able to complete the double leg and put Saunders on his back. Baker landing some solid punches from top position. Baker passes to side control and traps Saunders arm and unleashes an assault of hammerfists until the horn sounds.

Rd3: Baker comes out fast again putting Saunders against the fence. Baker finally finishes the double leg getting Saunders on his back. Baker landing punches and hammerfists. Baker keeps trying to stack Saunders and land the big punches. Saunders gives his back and is able to make it back to his feet for a brief second before Baker lifts him in the air and slams him to the canvas. Saunders trying hard to kick Baker off but Baker keeps coming picking the big shots this time. The round closes out with Saunders on his back and Baker placing calculated punches.

Bryan Baker defeats Ben Saunders via Unanimous Decision (30-27,30-27,29-28)

Damian Grabowski vs Dave Huckaba
Rd1: Grabowski times a Huckaba kick perfectly and brings him to the canvas. Grabowski working some ground and pound inside Huckaba’s guard. The re started for non action, Grabowski misses a double leg shot and Huckaba waits for him to return to his feet. Grabowski ties up and trips Huckaba to the mat. Grabowski in Huckaba’s guard doing little damage and again the fight is restarted. Huckaba unleashes a barrage of big punches right in the restart but the horn sounds to finish the round.

Rd2: Grabowski comes out looking for a big right misses and misses the double leg after as well. The fighters tie up against the cage and Huckaba rocks Grabowski with a right to the mouth and left to the guts. Huckaba lands an attempted flying knee. Grabowski steams forward and muscles Huckaba down to one knee and looks to take the back but Huckaba reverses and throws Grabowski to the ground and intelligently stands back up. 10 second marked is heard and Huckaba lands a big leg kick and looks for the big haymaker but again the horn spoils his plans.

Rd3: Huckaba rocks Grabowski’s head back with a jab but gets caught by a double leg and brought to the mat. Grabowski inside Huckaba’s guard doing no damage and again the fight is restarted. Grabowski misses a lazy shot and rolls onto his back, Huckaba invites him back to his feet and Grabowski takes his time getting up the fans boo loudly. Grabowski attempts another shot but is met with a Huckaba right that stops him in his tracks, again Grabowski rolls to his back and again Huckaba invites him back to his feet. Another attempted shot by Grabowski, this time Huckaba reverses winds up on top and steps back to his feet again signal ing for Grabowski to stand. Grabowski steams forawrd again this time with punches but Huckaba lands a nice right overhand counter. The round ends as Grabowski attempts another half hearted takedown.

Grabowski defeats Huckaba via Unanimous Decision (29-28,29-28,29-28)

Ryan Ford vs Luis Santos
Rd1: Santos lands first with a big leg kick but Ford responds with a right that briefly drops Santos. Santos floors Ford witn a huge head kick and continues the assault on Ford with punches and knees. Santos is controlling Ford from his back and Ford tries to maintain wrist control and neutralize Santos punching. Ford smartly continues to keep one hand on the ground to avoid Santos knees to his head.

Rd2: Ford bulls in with a flurry and head kicked that’s half blocked by Santos. Big jumping knee from Ford jars Santos. Ford connects flush on the chin of Santos with a big knee from the clinch and Santos drops like a stone, the ref jumps in and halts the fight. Big come from behind for Ford.

Cosmo Alexander vs Lorawnt Nelson
Rd1: Alexander showing nothing but offense as he stalks Nelson around the cage landing kicks and punches at will. Big leg kicks and knees by Alexander against the cage. Huge teep kick by Alexander pushes Nelson across the cage. Vicious elbow by Alexander followed up by more kicks to Nelson’s legs. Nelson comes to life at the end of the round landing a high kick, left over hand combo as the round closes out.

Rd2: Alexander continues to stalk Nelson around the cage and assault Nelson’s legs with kicks. Alexander lands a barrage of knees and punches forcing the fight against the cage. Nelson tries to respond with a flurry of punches but Alexander blocks all the shots. More destructive leg kicks from Alexander, every time Nelson starts anything Alexander meets him in the middle with butyl leg kicks.

Rd3: Alexander continues to stalk Nelson and work over his legs with kicks. Nelson starting to land a little offense, I’m just surprised he’s still walking. Alexander back to the tried and true leg kicks. Big overhand right from Alexander lands. More leg kicks from Alexander for the remainder of the round.

Alexander defeats Nelson via Unanimous Decision (30-27,30-27,30-27)

Nordine Taleb vs Matt MacGrath
Rd1: Taleb lands a solid leg kick and big right hand that drops MacGrath for a brief time, back on his feet MacGrath eats a flurry of punches from Taleb. MacGrath nose already showing signs of the crimson color. Taleb lands a jumping kick to MacGrath’s body, but it allows MacGrath a chance to tie up and land a few right hands upon exit. Taleb rocks MacGrath’s headback with a solid jab. MacGrath looks to tie up, misses but is able to land a knee to the body. MacGrath back ups Taleb with a right left combo.

Rd2: 2 big rights from MacGrath start off the second round. Taleb misses with a combo and MacGrath makes him pay landing shots on Taleb. MacGrath countering every shot thrown by Taleb but eventually Taleb lands the big over hand right that drops MacGrath, Taleb continues the barrage, MacGrath attempts to make it back to his feet but Taleb continues the assault dropping back down to both knees as the ref jumps in and stops the beat down.

Nathan Gunn vs Dom O’Grady
Rd1: gunn comes straight out and ties up forcing the fight against the cage. The fighters exchange knees to the mid section. The fight is restarted for non action and a slugfest ensues with Gunn getting the better of O’Grady. O’Grady forces Gunn against the fence looking for a single leg , O’Grady eventually succeeds getting Gunn down to 1 knee but again the fight is restarted. Another slug out ensues the is time O’Grady wobbling Gunn with a right hand, but Gunn shoots in and gets O’Grady to the canvas and lands in half guard. Gunn is busted open over his right eye just on the brow.

Rd2: Gunn clips O’Grady early and shoots in for the takedown, putting O’Grady on the mat. Gunn passes and traditions to side control and attacking with short elbows. Gunn looks for the crucifix but O’Grady rolls and takes over top position for a brief second until Gunn reverses again. Gunn now inside O’Grady’s guard working some nice ground and pound. O’Grady using quick hips traps Gunn in a triangle but O’Grady isn’t putting pressure on his ankle allowing Gunn room to breath, Gunn escapes but sadly O’Grady was just baiting him rolling him over and locking in the arm bar for the tap out win.

  1. Congrats to Taleb and Gunn on their performances. Nathan looked good before the triangle was slapped on in the 2nd.

    MacGrath kept coming as well, but was outgunned.

    Wow Ford was getting outclassed in the 1st then pulls off massive knee in 2nd,showed alot of heart and looking forward to seeing him in tournament
    Chandler vs Alveraz rematch is one of the best lightweight match ups out there
    Cosmo opponent won’t be walking right for a month after that beat down, what a beast and next month he will be fighting Kem Sitsongpenong in the glory tournament

    Out classed lol, that what u say every time a fighter loses a round. I thought he did a pretty good job of not allowing a bjj blackbelt not grab a submission, you can tell how far he’s come since training with the best at Tristar can’t wait to see his next fight. Ford always puts on show!!!!!

    I’m not actually thinking we’ll ever fight. Just trying to make a point. Can’t make 170, then starts challenging other welterweights to come up to 185. It’s just silly.

    If you move up a weight class, you have to fight people in that weight class. Seems simple enough to understand.

    Anyway, happy Sunday everyone! Congrats to Ford on a big win. Sounds like it was exciting.
