Canadian Rumour Mill – May 1

By:

MMA is heating up in Canada.  Crazy fights last weekend and more great fights this weekend.  The craziest fight has to be Roland Delorme vs Nick Denis on UFC.  Unfortunately, it will not be televised.   How sucky is that?

  • Look for Lyndon Whitlock to be on the next Score Fight Series card.
  • Toronto’s first amateur show will happen at the Toronto Pro Supershow on June 2 and 3.
  • Still no word on the next Ringside show, they have put on some great cards in the past and I can’t wait for their next one.  If anyone has heard anything, drop me a line: gossipqueen@topmmanews.com.
  • Another facial surgery in May for Kajan Johnson will keep him on the shelf for more time.
  • At Bellator this week, Nordine Taleb’s opponent will be George Lockhart.
  • First Ax Combat and now another clothing company turned fight promotion in Calgary. Fivestar Fight League’s inaugural show is being targeted for this summer in line with the Calgary Stampede in Calgary, Alberta.   This will be another Pro Am show like most shows in Calgary.
  • Sounds like Evolution could hold a card in late May.  Hopefully Wildman Greg Welsh is on that card, if it happens.
  • Tim Chemelli will return to the cage for Aggression FC 9 in Edmonton, June 8th.
  • Hearing that Valimaki vs Drysdale may not happen on Aggression in Edmonton.
  • Calgary’s UFC keeps getting better… Silva vs Rua, Bisping vs Boetsch and Koch vs Aldo is back on.

They’re saying they have every expectation they will use Denis vs Delorme in either Fuel or Fox, depending on its length etc.

On Fuel they only have 6 3 round fights in 3 hours, and its very unlikely they’ll all go the distance. They will need it in that block.

Love Rolly, and there’s probably only one guy in the world he could be matched up with that would make me cheer against him.

    Such is life.

    GO NINJA OF LOVE!!

Hey Guys… looking for a Pro debut Matchup for 115-120lbs female. If any Promotions are interested an have their own females that are looking to fight or possibly trying to match, please forward any interest. I already realize that looking for females at this particular weght is difficult and am hoping that others may be in the same boat. Nothing worse on my end then having someone put in the work and having a hard time to get them a fight.

    Thank you

Whitlock vs Gavin Tucker would be a good fight! Tucker needs a step up and Whitlock is a tough cat!

  6. Derek LeBlanc says:

@ClinchCraig: that would make a great fight

I know Tucker wants to take a step up and Whitlock would be the perfect fight for him. Whitlock I think will be in the top 10 after his ko of Houston and Tucker is getting closer to making it and a win against whitlock would do it

  7. Robin Black says:

I have never seen Tucker fight yet.

But going from smaller city opponents with experience like 0-6, 0-2, 0-2 and 5-4 to Lyndon Whitlock is more than “a step” up.

    Its a few steps up.

But, like I said, I’ve never seen him fight so that’s all I have to go on.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 2
