War Dog Steps in to Take on Hague at KOTC: Unified

A car accident has forced Jordan Tracey out of his planned Heavyweight contest with Tim Hague at KOTC: Unified. Craig “War Dog” Hudson has stepped up on short notice to take the fight against the #1 Heavyweight in Canada.

The Brantford, Ontario based Craig Hudson has won two straight fights after losing his pro debut against undefeated prospect Vladimir Starcencov. Hudson has won both of his fights by first round knockout over Blake Nash and John McPherson under the Score Fighting Series Banner.

Tim Hague is making his return after a short retirement from MMA. Hague is 3-1 in his last four fights with the only loss coming against Matt Mitrione in the UFC. Hague holds a 1-4 record in the UFC but has gone 12-1 in regional competition and avenged his only loss on the local circuit.

Good on ya Craig for stepping up.

Tim has an immense advantage on the ground. Great to see a newer guy step up but other than landing hard and early I don’t know how the WarDude wins this one.

But big kudos to Hudson. Respect.

What happened to Hague fighting Peter Nolan?

This is a better match up for Hague, if he’s looking for a win

the one thing everybody doesnt realize is that Craig one a gold medal for st.fx university when he was 16 for atlantic provinces….you dont know his ground game because he hasnt been able to show it…but hey who knows….guess we will see next Sat…but hey Robin thanx for the vote of confidence…;)

Tim Hague had this to say on Facebook…

“Well Jordan Tracey pulls out due to a car accident, get better soon bud. Peter Nolan takes the fight, then he realizes he wants more money. They give him more money and he drops out anyways, all classy like. Now big Craig Hudson takes the fight. Thanks for accepting Craig. Now don’t let a crazy gf steal your passport, fall over in the bathroom and split your head open on the shitter, or become violently ill the day of the fight.

Geez I’ve ran into a lot of “bad luck” in my career.”

Watched a couple of vids, War Dog has some takedown defense. Heavy hands, but wild. Could be an emergence or a reemergence. Either way I think someone is going to sleep. I think possible upset.

  17. Robin Black says:

No offense man you know I am DOWN with the War Dog.

But any 2-1 fighter on Earth absolutely positively is a massive underdog against a 5 or 6 time UFC vet on the road.

    Just gotta be honest.

That doesn’t stop me from admiring Hudson for it or even, as a fight fan, cheering for him.

But if we break down experience, location, ground game, pressure, and all the question marks (how’s Craig’s conditioning under pressure? How’s his td defense against a UFC level guy? How is he on his back? How is he while getting gnp-ed? How’s his clinch? Does he have his fundamentals down against the cage? Etc?), it would be crazy to see him as anything other than a big underdog.

But he has big power and great composure and balls of stell. Love him.

No offense but a gold medal in wrestling in the atlantic provinces doesnt hold much weight. Also St. Fx does not have a wrestling team.

Gotta thank Shane and Craig for taking a tough fight and also to Tim for hanging in there with opponent changes the last few days. We really wanted to keep Tim on the card for GP because people are looking forward to seeing him there. Thanks guys!

As far as Peter goes, there was a little miscommunication between him, his mangagement and myself, Nothing intentional by any party.

  21. Jamie Locke says:

    Under-dog + War Dog = UnderwarDog

I agree that Craig is a big time underdog, everything Robin stated is how it should be looked at.

That doesn`t mean The WarDog doesn`t have a shot, and I think he has a big cheering section on here.

  22. Demitri (trev) says:

Robin is bang on. But I guess any heavyweight has a punchers chance. Look at Duffee vs Russow. Prime example, can’t count wardog out, just can’t see it actually happening.

Either way I hope he makes noise and helps strengthen the heavyweight division.

  24. MMA FAN in Ontario says:

Someone is going to sleep…Every heavyweight has a punches chance to win. Hudson has been impressive his last two fights but this is a very big step up. A big up for Hudson for taking the fight and a real big up to hague for giving Hudson the chance to take his career to the next level. Good Luck to both men.

  25. FillionMMA says:

Congrats on Stepping up wardog! More people need this attitude.

Worst case scenario you go out, get subbed in a few min and know where you stand in the grand scheme of things. Best case you go out there and knock Tim senseless.

    Win Win.
