Stoney Creek, ON (April 11, 2012) – With just over two weeks to go until its inaugural event thunders into Belleville to entertain fight fans at the Yardmen Arena in support of the Highway of Heroes Memorial Fund, Discipline Mixed Martial Arts (DMMA) today announced the packed card for its Friday, April 27 show.

The main card will feature several names familiar to Ontario MMA fans, including Joel Powell and Misha Cirkunov, whose fights will close out the monumental show.

Powell, a heavy-handed Hamilton native who competed at the 2001 world wrestling championships, will headline the event opposite BJJ ace and Team Nogueira product, Fabio Moraes – a Brazil native who will make his North American debut on the card. The fight could easily end early for either man or make for a back-and-forth battle of attrition. Either way, the winner will be the fans in attendance who will get to see these two rising talents before they make it to a bigger stage.

The co-main event will see Toronto-based grappling phenom Cirkunov match mettle with Caleb Grummet – a reputable wrestler with professional boxing experience. Both combatants fight to finish, but can go the distance if necessary.
Rounding out the main card will be up-and-coming star and former Olympian Ainsley Robinson versus durable Eric Attard, Daniel Ireland versus Tim Chessell in a classic Belleville versus North Bay grudge match, a Canada versus USA pairing between Sudbury native Anna Barone and American Ashley Sanchez, and a barnburner in the making between fellow Ontario sluggers Denis Puric and Daryle Pinter.

Five dollars from the proceeds from each ticket sold will go to The Repatriation Memorial Highway of Heroes Fund.

Tickets for this historic first event in Southeastern Ontario are on sale now and can be purchased at https://tickets.bellevillebulls.com.

Ok great.. Now there is a full card listed and nicely a lot of local talent on the card. I’m not farmiliar with the bellville area but hopefully fans come out and support the show.

Nice to see things falling into place.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 12

  3. MMA FAN in Ontario says:

Wow, are these guys are in for a rude awaking..i just checked out their Facebook & youtube video’s…$1M revenue for the city more like $10.00…the tv show to show in 250,000,000 homes in 46 countries. The Ultimate Fighter does no where near 250,000,000 homes. Is there show bigger then UFC Connected..I don’t know this Dave Mair guy but holy shit..Dave Mair must of banged his head at one point in his life. It is no wonder why Robin speaks so highly of Mr. Mair… I can’t believe a former MMP has anything to do with Dave Mair “the face of MMA in Ontario”..I am all about supporting MMA but when people lie about their successes that is where i draw the line.

  6. Lindsay Thomson says:

Funny thing: the event was billed as starting with prelims @ 5:30, but after taking time off work to support the event by showing up, we discovered that there were no prelims and the show didn’t even begin until 8:00. 10 fights? No, just 6 with two breaks!!! I bought two tickets at almost $80.00 each for a show that provided only half what I was promised. I am a huge MMA fan, but its a deal like this that hurts the sport and I will guarantee that I will never buy a ticket that has Discipline MMA on it.

  7. John says:

yes it was disappointing that we were there for 5:30 and had to wait till 8:00 for it to start and only get to see 6 fight out of 10/12 counting the PENDING fighters
