Bocek vs Alessio Matchup at UFC 145

After almost six years since his last fight for the biggest promotion in the world, John Alessio has made it back to the UFC!

According to Mark Bocek’s recent tweet, Matt Wiman has suffered a knee injury and had to pull out of his fight with Mark Bocek at UFC 145. John Alessio will step up and face his fellow Canadian in Atlanta on 18 days notice.

Alessio (34-14) is unbeaten since moving down to Lightweight.  ‘The Natural’ most recently defeated Ryan Healy by decision at the Score Fighting Series in Hamilton last month.

Ontario’s Mark Bocek (10-4) is 6-4 in the UFC and most recently defeated Nik Lentz at UFC 140 this past December.

The two fighters join a card heavily laden with Canadian talent.  Rory MacDonald, Mark Hominick, Chris Clements, and John Makdessi are also on the card which is topped by the much-anticipated Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans title fight.
