“Gunner” Signs With Bellator, Debuts May 4

By:

Top MMA News favourite Nathan Gunn has announced via Twitter that he has signed a two year deal with Bellator Fighting Championships and is expected to make his promotional début on May 4 in Rama, Ontario. Providing Gunn receives clearance from the Ontario Commission, he would be making his début alongside teammate Matt Veal who takes on 2 time Bellator veteran Will Romero. Also making their début for Bellator on May 4 will be fellow Canadians Ryan Ford and Cory MacDonald.

“Gunner” will enter this contest on a two fight win streak over Nabil Khatib and Lindsey Hawkes in 2011. In the victory over Khatib, Gunn captured the Wreck MMA Welterweight Title in a dominant unanimous decision. Prior to his current resurgence, Gunn suffered a pair of devastating knockout losses in the MFC after going undefeated in his first seven bouts. With a victory in Bellator, Gunn should be well on his way to climbing back into the top ten of the Canadian Welterweight rankings.

  13. Gunner says:

thanks fellas it was a great oppertunity, i appreciate the support and wanna thank everyone that helped me get to this point whether it was through input & advice (Big Jake, Mr Crawford, Mr Black, Mauro, Mr Fyfe, Many more…) allowing me to fight and be a part of there show. (fighters nation, raw combat, kotc, MFC, **Wreck**) The great coverage of an average guy from TopMMAnews (Keith, Big Win, MAD and the rest)

My team and coach (Matt Richer) it is a big accomplishment for us all and to have two guys from our small gym making a debut on this stage is incredible. Definatly gonna be a fun night as we both join some other great Canadians (Mr Ford, Mr Macdonald) on the show.

You not gonna wanna miss this show May 4th there is guaranteed to be some amazing fights with all these guys in the building

  14. Gunner says:

Big thanks to Wreck for not only giving me the oppertunity to get some fights and treating me and my team extremely well but to also wanting the best for any fighter who they have fight for them and supporting them in progressing to larger promotions. There are not many shows that will be totally supportive of leaving them and moving on to bigger fish.
    Thanks for everything fellas

  16. Gunner says:

i once smacked a peter when i was 12 at the outdoor rinks playing hockey and stole his puck. i did not realize it would haunt you for so many years and come back to have such harsh words said to me,,,,

and in reply to your question yup i did get “murdered” if thats your choice of words…. it must have taken you since yesterday when this was announced to figure out how to google such high classified info as finding those only 2 losses of mine. Amazing detective work

Did you know if you google Jenna Jameson you find naked pictures and even some video?????? keep it secret that is some top secret stuff about her

  17. Jake - JHEG says:

Well, the hating continues and I don’t nor will I ever understand it. Nathan has had one hell of a career and deserves a shot at Bellator as a lot of fighters work hard and sacrifice to make it to a larger stage.

Peter Puck, you of all people should know this. Afterall, isn’t that what you preach? Work hard? Ethics? Doing what nobody else does in the game to be successful?

You see here’s the problem. You DEMAND loyalty with no questions asked. But my question to you, is who are you loyal to? If your answer is only the fighters that are winning and selling you tickets, then I’m afraid you’re in for a lifetime of disappointment. For you to come on here and shit on someone else’s success is bush league. Period. Take a page out of Nathan’s book and learn the art of being humble. He has never stooped to a low level by slamming promotions and from what I remembered, even defended yours.

I have no reason to continue here. I’ll let the true “fans” do it for me by voting you down.

  18. Idolmaker says:

Exactly jake!!! When people really started their disdain for the mfc, and the promoters tactics (contracts, pay, treatment of fighters…) Nathan gunn was the only fighter who did defend that promotion. Insecurity is a bitch, and pride is a bastard. Mfc’s Self proclamation as the number 1 in Canada and number 3 in the world is way off base. There was a time possibly, but that time has passed…can you hear the foot steps, because they are moving at a brisk pace!!!

  19. Don't Call Me Leon says:

Hey Top MMA News lets ban this Peter Puck joker? He may comeback with a different name but like the saying goes you can take the girl out of the trailer park but… Y’all get it! Nate, we know these haters just make you laugh and then take it out on your training partners! You’re a class act in my books.

  20. Hawkes says:

Nathan is nothing but a class act. congrats.

  21. Fight Fan says:

@Peter, your lack of class and multiple changing identities (despite the fact that it is obvious who you are) makes me wonder why anyone would ever associate themselves with you!

Nathan is a class act, who will go out and put everything he has in the tank on the line in order to give the fans a great show.

You should learn a thing or two about respect it goes a long way.

Your promotion lost out plain and simple , crying over it just makes you look petty!

    Congrats Gunner! Haters gonna hate.

  22. Robin Black says:

    Mark Pavelich:

I’m a huge fan of your drive and commitment and your never-say-die attitude. I’ve always liked the MFC and I’m usually behind you.

Nate is a hellova fighter and a hellova human who came in and proudly did battle for you, and his heart and drive produced 2 great moments for your organization. He was on the wrong end of those moments, but he took his lumps like a man and came back swinging.

    For shame ‘Peter Puck’.

When you are offending Robin, a big supporter, it’s time to rethink your approach.

I love shit talk, I love Sonnen-isms, I love the game.

But don’t belittle a warrior who fought for you on a thread where the community is happy and proud for him.

    Thumbs down man.

    1. is MFC still around?

    3. does anyone care?

Gunner gave his all in both MFC appearances, just like he has in everyone of his fight. To read the little cheap shot at Gunner is very disappointing.

I’ve never heard anyone say anything negative about Gunner, except Showtime LOL.

Gunner you know I’m a major fan and supporter. Look forward to teaming up with you to tag team Quinn, Diesel, and Robin (if he makes it out) and if we have anything left maybe some Team Olivera crew :)

you guys are being way too hard on Mark. You have no idea how difficult it is for him to go through his sad, weak, pathetic existence, knowing he’s never going to be a real man.
