Moise Rimbon signs with Ringside
The influx of talent into Quebec promotions continues, with Ringside MMA announcing it has signed Moise Rimbon to a two-fight contract.
The 30 bout veteran will make his promotional debut at Ringside 13, set for March 17 at the Metropolis in Montreal. Barring injury, the 34 year-old should be back for Ringside 14 on May 25 at the Bell Centre.
Since 2008, the 18-9-3 Rimbo has won six of his last eight, with his only losses coming by decision to ex-UFC Heavyweight champ Ricco Rodriguez and Antonio Rogerio ‘little Nog’ Nogueira.
The Swamp’s last Canadian outing, in September at Rumble in the Cage 44, ended gruesomely with a broken right arm for opponent Jared Kilkenny, who landed on the limb while being slammed less than a minute into the fight.
Rimbon’s signing adds some much-welcome size to Quebec’s ranks, where most fighters weigh-in south of 185. Last competing as a Heavyweight, Rimbon is listed by his management at Light-Heavyweight, though he can also make Middleweight. Which weight he’ll compete at in March should become clear once his opponent is announced.
One of several French fighters who train in Montreal at Tristar, Rimbon has been competing in the sport since 2000, splitting his time between Europe, Japan, and Russia.
