After a split decision win over John Hawk at Bellator 57 last Novemeber got Roger a spot in the Season Six Light-Heavyweight tournament, Roger Hollett will now face Marcus Vanttinen in the first round. Vanttinen hails from Finland where he has fought all around Europe to compile a record of 21-3. Vanttinen has beaten the likes of Edwin Dewees and has lost to current Bellator champ Christian M’Pumbu. While no official announcement has been made, a report from mm-eh.ca indicates that the fight will take place on March 2nd.
Hollett is currently 3rd on the Canadian Light-Heavyweight rankings and will be coming into this match on a five fight winning streak that includes wins over Hawk and Martin Desilets. The Halifax native splits his training between Titans MMA and Greg Jackson’s camp in New Mexico where he works out with fighters like UFC champion Jon Jones. This will be one of Hollett’s biggest tests to date but “The Hulk” does have the experience and will try to make his mark on the international stage.
