  2. @Jeff…I was just asking Marc-Andre if he can remember a miss that big.

Any one think of a bigger miss?

love watching johnson, but I hope he gets canned. Set an example, this is terrible and should never happen. I can see a few pounds, sometimes things just dont work out and fighters may come by a few pounds honestly (dont get me wrong, not making weight is completely unacceptable itself)

Vitor said he wouldnt take the fight unless johnson is 205. But I dont know if thats 205 for the morning or 205 by fight time

12 Lbs has to be up there for the biggest miss in UFC history.

I do remember Luigi Fioravanti missing weight by 13.6Lbs in his win over Hidetaka Monma in Japan. (That’s the biggest amount I remember a “name” fighter missing by)

Honestly, it’s not the first time Anthony Johnson doesn’t even come close to making weight. (Missed 170 by 6Lbs against Yoshida) He should be cut for being ridiculously un-professional.

This makes no sense…move up a weightclass, and miss weight by more than u used to at 170 by a large margin. Did he start hitting the juice?

  7. Dustin Martinson says:

I heard he tripped on a piece of cake while training and hurt his knee… then ate the piece of cake.

But seriously, I heard that he got very ill a few hours for the weigh ins and the UFC doc gave him tons of fluid. (re: Kevin Iole’s twitter) I’m not sure of the validity of that but 12 lbs… man.

  8. Demitri (trev) says:

If he is that sick where they had to pump that much fluid into him, i don’t think he would be fighting. Unless his recovery time is out of this world

  9. David Letourneau says:

Yannick Gallipeau missed weight once by 17 lbs, of course not in the ufc but equally as disrespectful. if i missed weight by 1 lb I would want to retire, when you lose the dedication and motivation its time to walk away.

  10. Dustin Martinson says:

@David… missing by 1 lb isn’t as big a deal. It could be just a mis-calculation. It happens often enough. 17 lbs? That makes Rumble look a heck of a lot better!

    Wait… no it doesn’t.

  11. Bdc says:

There must be a unk circumstance. A guy who made 170 in the past dosentmove up to 185 n miss it like that. The medics could have hydrated him easily that much with fluids in a couple hrs. His cells woulda just sucked up that nacl.

  12. Don't Call Me Leon says:

He was at 187.5 approx. a few hours before the scheduled weigh-ins, he started complaining of some illnesses and a UFC Doctor ordered him to rehydrate…

  13. L-Boutin says:

Karl Knothe missed a catch weight fight with Ricco Rodriguez by 23.75lbs, but they said there was a miscommunication between Knothe and his management. Apparently Knothe thought it was a HW fight and not a catch weight of 230lbs.

If you showed up for work unprepared they would send you home…Anthony chose this profession…He is not prepared…send him home

  16. David Letourneau says:

Agreed Robin, How exactly can one miscalculate? making weight is so much more then dehydrating your self the day of weigh ins, its people who think like that who come in over weight. Making weight is equally as important as the fight. imo
