John “The Bull” Makdessi has signed to take on fellow striker Anthony Njokuani in a Lightweight contest at UFC 145 in Montreal. The UFC officially announced the bout on their website earlier today.

Makdessi will be looking to erase the memory of his first career loss which came at the hands of Dennis Hallman at UFC 140 in Toronto. Prior to that, Makdessi secured a pair of wins over Pat Audinwood and Kyle Watson, the latter coming by way of a highlight reel spinning back fist knockout. Before entering the UFC Makdessi was undefeated in regional competition, winning his first seven bouts with six of those ending by TKO.

Njokuani also enters this contest coming off a loss in which he was outwrestled by Danny Castillo. Prior to that Njokuani has seen mixed results inside the Octagon. The Assassin holds a 5-5 record under the Zuffa umbrella including notable wins over Andre Winner, Chris Horodecki, Muhsin Corbbrey and Bart Palaszewski. The latter three of which all earned Njokuani Knockout of the Night honors.

UFC 145 will also feature fellow Canadians Rory MacDonald, Mark Bocek, Mark Hominick and debuting Chris Clements. The Main card will air on Pay-Per-View and the Prelims are expected to air on Sportsnet in Canada.
