Joey Gobeil defeats Tyler O’Brien by TKO (Strikes) in Round 1, 3:17
Cole Argue defeats Mitch Migneault by TKO in Round 1, 0:52
***Impressive comeback for Argue. Argue gets hit hard by a knee to the groin. Argue looked pretty messed up, looked like he was about to puke and puke bucket was out. Took almost entire five minutes to recover. Fight restarts and Argue absolutely crushes Migneault with a straight planking him. Out cold. Then jumps on Migneault with 4-5 hammer fists.
Awesome KO by Argue! Never seen a guy comeback from groin shot break and KO someone 1st punch! Sick!
Argue’s arm looks pretty bad, seems to have injured it in finishing sequence. Was shaking badly post fight and looked very red. Ice and sling now.
Teague Smith absolutely crushed his guy with a massive knee to the skull after stuffing his shot and seperating. Nice!
Great night here so far! Good to finally meet Jason B, Bobby K and Mitch Clarke!
PBP by BKB! !!!
Great brawl between McKee and Grandbois!
A little confusing…So Shorrock comes out for his fight and kyle Cardinal is checking him out before getting in cage and points to around his eye, then he calls in vern gorman (ref) and it looks like they both have issue with something by eye. Bring doc in and fight is cancelled before it starts. MC says that the guy had stitches around his eye so dangerous and fight is called off.
Now I totally agree, but my only question is why was he not stopped at weigh ins and meds????
I don’t know back story just wondering
Very competitive fight between Mark and Davis. Both Kevin Royle and I had it 29-28 Davis ( first 2 rds to Davis, last rd Mark)
Judges had it, 29-28, 30-27 davis. 29-28 mark.
Davis says he feels that Mark won 2 rds(so feeling he lost). I totally disagree, I don’t think he looked very good after 1st rd but won the fight.
Thanks for your recaps BKB. Thanks to Kurt as well for texting throughout the night.
Would love to see that first fight.
who won the other fights then
Awesome knee by Teague! Perfectly placed and followed up by some quick gnp before ref stepped in.
how is that gervais bercier fight panning out?
Davis relentless with leg kicks! Looked tired but pushed the pace, Daniel Mark unable to do any damage on the ground.
Killroy… the event is still going on. Keep hitting refresh.
Gervais with a huge right uppercut ko second round.
I was man took fight on 8 days notice with a cold and spranged ankle but man props to Mark for great fight he did amazing and has a bright future.
Great fight between mercier and gervais. I had Mercier take first 10-9. Mercier had good boxing and wrestling ad good gas. really recognized range well. 2nd rd got hit by knee on scramble (knee down, but unintentionaly) gervais lost pt. Restart leg kick to balls by gervais (seemed accident again). Then a min later gervais lands monster huge uppercut and KOs big time! Great reffing by Kyle Cardinal.
Vincent Bercier, 10-9. Gervais landed a grounded knee, lost a point, had it 9-9 at the closing of the second rnd but Huge uppercut from gervais to get the Ko!
Agreed Bobby. Excellent job by Kyle refing
congrats to leo.
right on steele!
Way to go Tyson Steele
Are Rodriguez vs. Heynen and Veal vs. Welsh still on the card?
yes
Welsh vs Veal is fucking CRAZY !!!!!!!

Rodrigruez looked like a fuckin rockstar against a good prospect in heynen. Very impressive! Dominant!
Welsh vs Veal was absolutely insane!

Great reffing that fight too by kyle again.

On the highway? Those sound awspme. Great fights tonight
McRibs at McDonalds by Boston Pizza, wicked!
Sounds like a great night. Congrats to all the fighters.
A great night of fights capped by McRibs??
WAR Lloyd!
I was at a cool black tie Long Pant Kickboxing event in London. Great show but no McRibs.
Glad everyone had a great time out west too. :)
So what’s the deal with the LW title? Both Steele and Rodriguez have it?
Matt veal. Must have the best chin in mma that was a crazy fight greg welsh is a monster
Good job Jose !! first on making 155 and then a dominant win !
Dear Tyler (I will now say something positive):
Mike, congrats on your win. It is all the more impressive given the series of adversity you overcame to even make it to the ring. A tough fought battle is undoubtably a well earned reward for your sisyphian struggle.
Biggie
Yes, I think Davis repeated over and over how he took this fight on 8 days notice with a cold etc. in case he lost he would have an excuse. I think he forgot to mention though that he had already been in training for a title fight that was supposed to happen at the end of September but fell through…
Me, can you please try to be more respectful. Tyler has asked that we be more positive and supportive. I think he has a point.
Your truly,
Biggidy Boi
Yes I was training but when fell through I kinda just hit up marble slab and east side Marios but ya Daniel is a tough kid was a blast and Veal vs Welsh is without a doubt fight of year for me so far what a fucking crazy fight!
Marble Slab is fucking unbelievable. We just got one here. East side Mario’s not so much….
Love east side man there starter bread yum!!! Peanut Butter Crisp is just so good any time I’m pissy it helps lol so amazing check it out!!!! And Jose looked amazing hope he fights Tyson would be nuts.
And in no way I would use a excuse for a loss i will not use them for a shitty performance. I was against a extremely talented fighter who made me look bad not me being sick he is a unknown talent people saying I had no place fighting him. I knew of him and knew it was not going be easy. Little to gain lots to lose fight and was happy it went like that I have a lot to learn and work on.
mmmm marble slab, biggie yay lets all be happy and positive. i must admit what i said on the other thread was done at three in the morning yet only slightly intoxicated. but i watched my bro go through a war with a very tough guy. and when others try to diss my brothers achivments….well it pisses me off. Its very easy to critisize but this is not the easiest sport to participate in. So open invitation to anyone to go buy some shorts and a mouth guard then get a fight then talk shit after
So Steele has the LW and WW belt and Jose also has the LW belt?
Anyone?
Ice cream is my crack.
A big congrats out to my boy Jose on becoming the EFC Lightweight Champion.Congrats to all the other winners the other night and thank you to thier opponents for showing up ready to put on a show.
To clear up the title question, from what I understand Tyson Steele was offered to move up a weight class to fight for the Welter weight title. When doing so, you vacate your exsisting title. There is no MMA promotion around that I know of that has a champion that holds consecutive titles. This would be poor marketing by the promotion as they want to stack the promotion with the strongest champion they can at each weight class to give the event credibility and expand thier fan base. I think the EFC was very smart in doing this, they have now 3 studs holding 3 of thier titles in Welsh, Rodriguez and Steele, which looks very good for them as a promotion. If any one of these fighters wanted to shift a weight class and challenge the other they would have to vacate thier present title to do so and then the next top 2 contenders would be possible prospects to fight for the vacant title.
That’s just my opinion on the situation. When our camp was offered a shot at the vacant title we did not ask questions we just agreed and showed up to fight!! We did not ask about who was what or what they were doing. We just assumed what I stated above because it is common practise.
Hope that helps clear things up to some degree.
Thanks again to the EFC executive & staff for having us out and putting on a good show.
Regards,
Troy Scheer
Steele never gave up the 155 belt. My understanding was that Jose would be the interm champ until Steele decides hes gong to stay at 170, or Jose will just be next in line for the title shot…..but I could be wrong. Tyson vs Jose would be a great fight. Both fighters looked great last night.
