TMN Exclusive: The Whitemare meets The Handler at SFS
Another great showdown has been added to the Score’s Fighting Series sophomore outing as sources close to both camps have confirmed Marius Zaromskis will return to the great white north and tangle with Dan Hornbuckle. This is a great battle of two veterans of the Japanese MMA circuit as the Dream Welterweight champ, Zaromskis, takes on Hornbuckle, the Sengoku veteran. With a great card already in place this bout will be the cherry on top of an already stacked card.
Zaromskis, the Dream Welterweight champion, rose to fame by head kicking the Dream Welterweight grand prix into submission, made his first trip north in June at the Score’s promotional debut and suffered a decision loss to Canadian wunderkind Jordan Mein. “The White mare” wiped the taste of that loss out of his month by defeating Eiji Ishikawa this past July.
Hornbuckle hit his prime when he defeated Akihiro Gono and Nick Thompson in Sengoku. “The Handler” then attempted to dispose of the Bellator Welterweight tournament but ran into a roadblock know as Ben Askren, falling just short of his second tournament win. Dan returned to Bellator for another crack at their tourney but this time dropped a unanimous decision to Luis Santos in the opening round.
The Score Fighting Series sophomore show kicks off October 14 at the Hamilton Place Theatre. Other fights featured on the card are Canada’s number 6th ranked Middleweight takes on Brett Cooper. Tristan Johnson, Canada’s number 7th ranked Featherweight battles up and comer Lyndon Whitlock. Also on card Ali Mokdad moves up to Light Heavyweight to face 10th ranked Misha Cirkunov. If you’re a resident of Southern Ontario and haven’t picked up your tickets, don’t be silly and grab them fast. Stay tuned to Top MMA News as the rest of the SFS card should be revealed in the coming days.
