Alessio Drops To Lightweight


John Alessio announced via his official twitter account that he will be making his lightweight debut against UFC Veteran Rob Emerson at Superior Cage Combat 3 on November 4.

“I will be facing Rob Emerson Nov 4th @SuperiorCCombat main event for my lightweight debut in Las Vegas!!!!!”

Alessio, a British Columbia native who currently trains out of Xtreme Couture Las Vegas, recently bounced back from his first defeats in 2 years by submitting Shawn Fitzsimmons this past August. “The Natural” is a veteran of over 35 fights and has fought a who’s who at welterweight since 1998. Now Canada’s 3rd ranked Welterweight has decided to drop a weight class and take another run at the big show.

Emerson, a veteran of TUF season 5 had record of 3-3-1 in the UFC and has gone 2-1 since being released. Rob has fought many notables during his 9 year career including Jens Pulver, Melvin Guillard, Grey Manard and Nik Lentz
