If Overeem wins, should he get a title shot against the winner of Cain/JDS?
December 30th is a Friday! interesting…
If Overeem wins then I would say he deserves a title shot.
I’m pulling for Brock!
UPDATE: Added Jon Fitch vs. Johny Hendricks
UPDATE: Added Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Alexander Gustafsson
Overeem was offered jds/cain winner off the hop. He didnt want to take a long lay off in competing as the winner would need to recover and have a proper camp in. It is already noted that the winner of the fight gets the next crack.
IMO overeem will prove to be too much for brock on the feet as he seems a little shy to engage in striking exchanges. Although overeem sometimes has troble off his back I can see his solid takedown defence becoming a factor as it did in the Silva bout. Overeems lifetime of experience will also play a factor against brock who in my opinion jumped up to the big leagues with out real warrant. Names are great for ppv buys and I can understand it is a business and also Brocks wrestling pedagree is good backing to why he is there. I am excited for this fight and overeems test against the best heavyweights in the world.
Overeem KO round one
UPDATE: Added Jake Ellenberger vs. Diego Sanchez
UPDATE: Added Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz
Yeah Cowboy!
I loved Jackson on Saturday night
“Go get some Donald CERONE!”
He’ll beat Diaz down.
To all those saying Overeem with beat Brock due to superior striking I have two questions:
1. When in the last 3 years has Overeem definitively outstruck someone in MMA?
2. When has Overeem ever faced as skilled and as large a wrestler?
Brock wins this fight 9 times out of 10 which will set up a massive fight in the future.
Outstruck Dufee in seconds….just sayin’
UPDATE: Added Junior Assuncao vs. Ross Pearson
LOL – Dufee took that fight on less than two weeks notice and was fighting in a cage over a ring but I will conceed your point.
Alister is going to find out that being locked in a cage with Brock is sort of like being locked in a cage with a shaved gorilla. Sure you could try to reason with him and perhaps even hit him a bit as you circle away but if Alistar was afraid of exchanging with Verdum then he’s going to be petrified of Brock.
If 200 lbs of Arona could put Alistar on the ground the close to 300 lbs of Div 1 Brock will do it at will.
The UFC will sell Overeem as the second coming which will work nicely to get Brock back in the limelight.
UPDATE: Added Manny Gamburyan vs. Diego Nunes
Agree with BigBoi
On another note… diego will destroy ellenberger…
Nobody will destroy Ellenberger. I’ve got him as the only guy to beat Gsp right now.
UPDATE: Added Ramsey Nijem vs. Anthony Njokuani and Luis Ramos vs. Matt Riddle
UPDATE: Added Nam Phan vs. Jim Hettes
Update: TJ Grant is out and Efron Escudero will mkae his return to the UFC to face Volkmann
Would have liked to see Camoes get another shot before Escudero (since Camoes beat him at TPF). But other than the loss to Camoes Efrain has been on a tear.
Ramsey is out. In between fights he ballooned up to 350 lbs, and can’t make weight. Or he’s injured, can’t remember which.
