Top MMA News has learned that Daron Cruickshank will face Mike Ricci at Ringside 12.  Joey Benoit, Ringside matchmaker, confirmed that Cruickshank will replace Kurt Southern on the October 21st card.  Southern was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury.

Cruickshank, from Michigan, is 8-2 in his career and will be challenging for the vacant Ringside Lightweight title.  He most recently fought in Hamilton at Slammer in the Hammer where he defeated  Brad Cardinal late in the first round.

Ricci will be a tough test for the American Lightweight.  Recently profiled by Top MMA News (click here to read), Ricci has a renewed focus on his career.  It should prove to be an exciting Lightweight matchup.

This title fight joins an already announced Ringside Bantamweight title fight on the card where Stephane Pelletier will defend his title against Featherweight title holder Mitch Gagnon.

I actually really like this match up, both guys stack up pretty good and it’s always nice to replace a tough a opponent with an equally dangerous guy. Good job Ringside.
