Going Down: Grant to Face Roller at UFC on Versus 6
It looks like we are going to see a light and lean TJ Grant in the future. The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native will be making the move down to Lightweight and now will be facing wrestling standout Shane Roller at UFC on Versus 6 which is to take place October 1st at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. The story was first posted by ufc.com.
Oddly enough, Grant has recently been on a ten day training session at Team Takedown in Dallas with Roller and others to help Johnny Hendricks prepare for his fight against Mike Pierce at UFC 133 next weekend. Grant is 3-3 in his UFC career with wins over Ryo Chonan, Kevin Burns and Julio Paulino. Grant was supposed to face Charlie Brenneman in the end of June at UFC on Versus 4 but had to pull out because of illness.
Roller is 1-1 in the UFC with a win over Thiago Tavares and most recently losing to Melvin Guillard at UFC 132 at the first of the month. Roller is known more for his stint in the WEC where he compiled a 6-2 record before Zuffa combined the leagues last year.
Will the move to Lightweight be the shot in the arm that Grant needs to make it over the top? A win over Roller could be a good start to that.
