how would a guy like Jimmo work living in edmonton but born in the east?

  4. We won’t be too picky on these. Put them where you think its appropriate.

Jimmo in 2011 has fought in the East and West. Lives in Edmonton and Born in Nova Scotia. Valid to put him in East or West. Just put him in one spot.

its a way to get people thinking of who is hot in 2011 cause logical choices you would think like say a Desilets is having a bad 2011. When you look at just 2011 you realize who is top this year like for me left Hague out of pick just cause not a great 2011 and you would want top 2011 fighters. Its a good idea to get some good convos going.

  7. Mike Davis says:

first thing came to mind was West Kajan Jhonson and East Chris Horodecki but then looked closer and realized Kajan has not fought this year yet.

  8. Bobby Karimi says:

Yea I think it was a cool idea, definite convo piece. and I agree with Mike, you’ll actually have to look into who’s fought in 2011.

I’m gonna say the Canadian Rankings will probably be of benefit as well.

  9. Derek LeBlanc says:

@Keith. Actually Jimmo was born in New Brunswick and trained in nova scotia. Either way this is a cool idea

Other than Quebec, is there mma in the east?

    west is best!

  13. Darren Owen says:

I know the instructions were to email but here’s my All Star selections for non Zuffa Canadian fighters for 2011.

    Bantamweight – Josh Hill 2-0
    Featherweight – Antonio Carlvalho 1-0
    Lightweight – Kurt Southern 2-0
    Welterweight – Jordan Mein 4-0
    Middleweight – Patrick Cote 2-0
    Light-Heavyweight – Ryan Jimmo 2-0
    Heavyweight – Ryan Fortin 1-0
Woman – Sarah Kaufman 1-0 (Fight was outside of Zuffa)

I must say how surprised I was to see majority of Canada’s top fighters only having 1 or 2 fights in 2011 and in some cases none. Welterweight was competitive with Mein and Ford. HW was very thin. I would also pick Jordan Mein for MVP thus far in 2011.

@Candex “Other than Quebec, is there mma in the east?”

Yeah tons of them Halifax has a ton of talent, then the super hot spot of Ontario. But people look past Halifax and when looking at fighters I found a ton of them are from there.
