    I had it 30-25.

  3. I agree Bobby. Judges should not be afraid to give 10-8s.

  4. Bobby Karimi-Busheri says:

Thanks Keith, it was clearly a totally dominating performance by Ring, he deserved the 10-8s.

I gotta say though, the way Ring was dominating I was really expecting a finish and kinda disappointed he didn’t.

    Still very dominant, congrats!

  7. Drysdale/Nickels PBP

Drysdale does not even attempt to strike.
He shoots a single immediately and gets the take down.
    Immediately gets side.
jumps across Nickels to other side.
    locks on a choke.
    guillotine and Nickels taps.

    good action
derk was best fight– he is ready to be ranked– what do others think?

  19. ccanadx says:

A few comments– All fighters made weight and were in shape. This shows AFC respects the sport.

Derk’s was best fight of the night

There was a fine line between stopping it just before injury and it looked the ref made great call to stop it.

(I view mma as a skilled sport– not a public beating)

Drysdale was great but from a personal growth perspective he might try going outside his comfort zone and strike more.

Kalib restired as a honest fighter with high skill level.

Best card for a Canadian MMA organization this year from the moment the card was announced, to weigh ins and then come fight night! Congrats to the AFC for showing class and professionalism!

  21. Jarvis says:

Wow, easy win for Drysdale. Who will AFC test him against next? Nick Penner, Victor Valimaki or Roger Hollet might be good as far as Canadians go.

  22. Anonymous says:

Nice suggestions Jarvis, both good fighters but Valimaki has had it tough in his last 3 outings and Hollett is on a tear right now. Hollett vs Drysdales for the title, what you think AFC?

  23. Jarvis says:

Anonymous, i like that! Hollet vs Drysdale would be amazing!

  24. Home Wrecker says:

Other than a few decent up and comers, this was a weaker AFC. There was no local support, why were none of the ticket sellers on this card? The place was empty and you could hear a pin drop. AFC better redeem themselves next time.

Partnering with Aggression will only make them continue to spiral downward.

  25. Jamie Locke says:

Great card, I had a great time at this show as per the AFC norm.

The fans were thinner than past events, but I think this was for a few reasons,

#1- marketting in BC would be very tough with the Nucks in the finals.

#3- Lacked huge local draw Hinchliffe due to his E-town fight with Ford.

#4- It’s gotta be hard to expect an attendance like their last show which featured Sarah K, She brought the roof down at Bear Mt last show and I am sure alot of people were there to see her.

I have no fear though, this was a great show, maintained the professional standard that AFC has brought to BC. Every fight I saw was entertaining and the event ran super smooth as usual. I am positive that their next event will see the hockey fans return to their seats at the fights.

  26. Jarvis says:

Has to be a Canadian defending the pride of Canada against Drysdale. Has to be one of us! Im very thrilled of the idea of Hollet or Penner taking him on!

  27. I’d love to see Drsydale vs Vinny Magalhaes or Roger Gracie (Gracie too expensive for AFC but I can dream)

Drsydale vs Vinny Magalhaes I like.

  29. Darren Owen says:

Drysdale and Vinny are good friends, quite the opposite with Roger Gracie though. I had a lot of trouble finding Canadians to fight Drysdale for this event. Hollett would be an interesting fight.

  30. Jason Heit says:

Does this put Derek Medler in the top ten in Canada? He belongs there. UFC bound for sure, Joe Silva are you paying attention?

My buddy from Victoria was at the event he said the fights were good but no people, he said 300 tops.

  32. ryan farse says:

Drysdale is great when is he going to a bigger show. This guy is very dangerous.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

  33. Darren Owen says:

300 LOL, there was 240 alone in the VIP boxes and Suites. I’m also pretty sure nobody in Victoria is friends with you Zerr oops I mean “ryan farse” almost time to chnage your alias again. Maybe go back to using Johnny Vegas oh wait that was MP. (Actually got confirmation on that)

  34. Anonymous says:

Medler is a BEAST and he’s always improving, congrats to him. Got to have cracked that top ten now! As much as you want the seats filled (it looked to be a 1000 in attendance in all honesty)shame on those who missed such a well runned machine, tickets are so cheap and there’s no bad seat at Bear Mountain.

  35. Medler was very impressive last night but Evans is a guy with a good record who has never beaten anyone with a winning record.

  38. dan chambers says:

ya i thought nickels would be able to push him abit, a win 1 min in… drysdale is a beast. i know his bjj is out of this world but how is the rest of his game?

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

  39. Bobby Karimi says:

Nickels hasn’t tested more skilled guys in a while.

His last 3 significant fights have all resulted in quick loss. 1:19, 1:30, 1:04.

I’m not sure if Drysdale needs to be challenged by someone of the likes of a Hollett. Maybe Victor Valimaki or Tim Chemelli?

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

  40. Jarvis says:

I agree with Bobby, Hollet is best bet. Valimaki or Chemelli would be solid also.

afc6 was a classy event- on time, everyone made weight, good matchups. Drysdale and Derk were very good fights.

I knew folks would comment on attendace in here, so i paid attention.
The expensive seats on the floor sold very well, the stands looked full facing the “ring” but the ends were sparce – perhaps 1700-1800. A lot of fans stand and walk around so who knows?

Ufc was in vancouver earlier and the canucks owned all the bums in seats (and in the riot) for what… 2 months?

I could not see the box seats very well but they were yelling a lot so folks were in there.

I saw ryan fart ass and homewrecker in the john charming 300 so I know where he got his numbers.

  42. Eric Carl says:

Drysdale has huge earning potential, & a huge if not underground following in the sport Jiu Jitsu global community. I commend the AFC for signing him.
