Carvalho Gets The Call, Faces Alcantara at UFC 134
The UFC has signed Canadian featherweight prospect Antonio “Pato” Carvalho to a multi-fight contract and he will make his debut against Brazilian standout Yuri Alcantara in at UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro.
Carvalho is coming off a unanimous decision victory over UFC veteran Douglas Evans at the inaugural Score Fighting Series in Mississauga last weekend. Carvalho is currently on a three fight win streak since returning from a nearly two year absence from the sport. “Pato” holds notable wins over the likes of Hatsu Hioki, Takeshi Inoue and Rumina Sato during his run in the Shooto organization in Japan.
Yuri Alcanatara comes into the bout with an impressive 25-3 record with his last bout taking place in the final WEC event where he knocked out Ricardo Lamas in the first round. Alcantara will make his Octagon debut in the midst of an eleven fight win streak with ten of those victories coming via stoppage. All but two of Alacantara’s bouts have taken place in his home country of Brazil.
