All four fighters in the co-main events for the Maximum Fighting Championship’s MFC 30: Up Close & Personal card were bang on the scale during Thursday’s official weigh-in.

The two fights top the marquee on Friday night’s show at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, which will air live on HDNet Fights starting at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT (check local listings for channel designation).

Headliners Drew “Night Rider” Fickett (41-13) and Brian “The Bandit” Cobb (18-6) are set for an exciting lightweight clash between top-notch submission specialists. Fickett weighed in at 155.5 while Cobb stepped off at 155.4.

In the night’s other co-main event, electrifying veterans Pete “The Secret Weapon” Spratt (22-19) and “The Irish Hand Grenade” Marcus Davis (18-8) will square-off in a welterweight tilt that is a rematch of their 2007 bout that Davis took via a second-round submission. Spratt weighed in at 170.6 and Davis was set at 170.1.

  4. BKB – I can’t say for sure but I suspect they’re allowing it as it took place in the mall and they weren’t letting anyone strip down to weigh in.

How stupid to do it in the mall and not allow the fighters to strip down? Something they are allowed to do at even the smallest of amateur events.

Feel bad for these great fighters who have to showcase their skins in a shitty little barn tomorrow night.

Must be like going back 10 years for some of them.

Brutal to come in over weight. If you know opponent will accept the fight, maybe the five pound advantage was worth the 2-300$.

    Did he try to cut?

  9. MMAAdvertising: kinda hard considering they take place right in front of a glass elevator ;)
