Aggression MMA and Armageddon FC Announce Pact

By:

Edmonton, Alberta (Canada): Aggression MMA and Armageddon Fighting Championship (AFC), two of Canada’s top fight promotions, today announced an unprecedented agreement that will affect upcoming events. Here are the details:

Nationally-ranked welterweight stars Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (15-3) and Nick “Juggernaut” Hinchliffe(18-7) will be facing off with one another in the main event of Aggression’s “Confrontation” this Friday, June 10th, at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton. If Ford wins the fight, he will face off with one of Aggression’s top Welterweights for the vacant Aggression MMA Welterweight Championship at an Aggression event this fall. If Hinchliffe takes home the victory, he will tangle with one of Armageddon’s top 170-ers for the vacant AFC Welterweight Championship at an AFC event in the fall.

This business development is quite unique, in that most MMA promotions don’t cross-promote or work together. However, the heads of both promotions are excited at the opportunity to work together and benefit one another.

“I like the Aggression guys a lot,” explained Darren Owen, AFC President. “I like Moin and Harvey and their vision, and true intentions, and I have no problem working with them more in the future.”

“Darren has helped us out several times in finding last-minute opponents, putting us in touch with managers…their spirit is very much cooperative. And working together for the fans and the sport…it just makes sense,” stated Moin Mirza, Aggression MMA Co-Owner. “I don’t think either of us have a ‘crabs-in-a-bucket’ mentality, trying to pull other promoters back in. There is room in this sport for promoters that are well-intentioned, and have the best interest of the fans in mind.”

In addition to the Ford-Hinchliffe main event, “Confrontation” will also showcase two-time world Muay Thai champion Shane “Shaolin” Campbell (4-1), KO artist Rio Wells (4-1), submission wizard Luke Harris (6-1), and the MMA debut of world Muay Thai champion Levi Krupe. More details will be announced shortly.

General admission tickets for “Confrontation” are now on sale, and are priced at $60. Limited floor seats are available for $100, $150, and $200. Tickets are available at www.tnttickets.ca or via email atinfo@aggressionmma.com. Fans can also call (780) 426-SOLD.

Heard this news last week… I think it’s a great idea. I think the best way for the local shows to get the expossure they need is by working together.
I believe it was spelled wrong in the press release, but the correct spelling is Levi Kump. I’m looking forward to seeing him in the cage. Seems like organizations in Edmonton are having a problem with spelling fighters names correctly ;)

It’d be cool to see these organizations share titles as well. It’s a long shot, but makes sense if they plan on doing business together. Could also save each promotion some money if say, the AFC Champ lives in Edmonton, he could fight there on Aggression shows and vice versa.

Interesting development though for sure. Great to see guys working together instead of competing and dissing…

I dont understand how this is the two promotions working together, unless its a typo. So if Ryan Ford wins he’s fights a top aggression welterweight for the title. But if hinchliffe wins, he fights one of AFC’s top ww. How is thaT working together?? isn’t that what should be happening??

I gots to agree with i_love_beans and this is how the deal should go down

Ford wins he takes on an AFC Welterweight for the AMMA belt, Hinchliffe wins he takes on an AMMA Welterweight for the AFC belt?
