Grant Looks to Solve Riddle
I guess Dana White must have seen my video interview with TJ Grant. After the video was posted on Top MMA News, the UFC has announced today that Grant will be fighting Matt Riddle at UFC on Versus 4 card taking place June 26th in Pittsburgh. While Grant has been quiet since his last match where he lost by decision against Ricardo Almedia at UFC 124 in December, he wasted no time to jump back in the octagon.
“We got the phone call yesterday about Riddle and if TJ wanted that fight and we jumped at the opportunity,” says Scott Maclean, Grant’s manager. “Riddle is very well rounded. We heard through the grapevine that he choose TJ and we are very enthusiastic to test his skills against him.”
While Grant will be looking to get back in the win column to keep his job safe, Riddle will be doing the same thing. Riddle also lost in Montreal at UFC 124 by decision to fellow Canadian Sean Pierson. Riddle is 5-2 in his career, all inside the octagon but has gone 2-2 after starting 3-0. While Grant may be able to use the same game plan that Pierson used to get his win, it’s hard to see what the Cole Harbour native will have in store for the TUF alum.
