With the previous WRECK main event between ‘Farmer’ Brown and Shonie Carter being scrapped, Top MMA News knew that WRECK was looking for a replacement main event. Now sources close to the fight are telling Top MMA News that Jordan Mein will return to Ottawa/Gatineau to face Gideon Ray on May 6th.

Jordan Mein will return to the place where he began his red hot 2011 season. Fans will remember that Mein main evented WRECK: Strong and Proud against Joe Riggs. Mein raised a lot of eyebrows when Mein dominated the much heavier Riggs and stopped the UFC veteran in the second round.

Since that WRECK victory in January, Mein went on to defeat the previously unbeaten Keto Allen in 42 seconds. Jordan then moved on to Ontario’s first MMA card where he defeated another former UFCer, Josh Burkman, in the main event.

Mein will be facing his third former UFCer in 2011 when he takes on Gideon Ray on May 6th. Ray is 17-12 in his career and has faced fighters such as Mike Swick, Charles McCarthy, and David Loiseau in the UFC.

This fight joins a stacked WRECK card that already features two title fights as John Fraser takes on Eric Wilson and Brad Cardinal fights Jesse Gross.

WHAT?? That sucks! But probably advisable. Enjoy a vacation man. Come back and smoke somebody later in the summer.

Some rest would probably be a good idea but I would love to see Jordan vs Sean Pierson in Toronto.

I don’t understand why Lee Mein doesn’t just call the ufc and be like “what’s the hold up?”

Jordan has done more in the last two years than any 170er in canada regarding quality and quantity of opponents.

    Give this kid a shot!!!

  9. Yes. He was on the card and then had to pull out due to injuries. Needs some rest.

  10. David Letourneau says:

Sounds like an intelligent decision to make, Jordan has fought plenty this past year and needs some rest so he doesnt injure himself seriously. I believe ufc will be coming his way sooner rather then later, look how long it took bongfeldt to get it there but eventually they couldnt deny him

…and really a win over Gideon Ray isn’t gonna make his stock skyrocket much more than it already has, he’s a game opponent and all but the Burkman and Riggs wins have shown what he can do!

but another win over a ex UFC fighter is always good on the resume.. If he needs rest though its well deserved!!!
