I was shocked to see Hackert so heavey. Word on the street is he was 30lbs over the day before weigh ins… It’s like he didn’t even try.

10 lbs is brutal. Hope he gets KO’d or tapped because thats not fair for Huveneers

10 lbs isn’t a slight oversight. He shouldn’t be allowed to fight.

if one does not make weight the purse shrinks. these must be small purses as many folkes elect to have weight more than purse.

this whole idea of being over weight must be rethought. One can understand the difficuly of meeting a weight level(it is difficult as mma fighters are not fat) but missing weight by a lot cheapens the whole game. Perhaps asking for a cut weight 3-4 weeks in advance?

Incidently this critism is not leveled at certain Cold Lake fighters (goofy scale)or guys who miss by 1-3 lbs but 10 lbs is not acceptable. THe worst was showtime at AFC- comes in heavy after being flown out from To, drops out 15 minutes before fight and than curses everyone but himself.

There are weight classes for a reason. If he’s weighing in at light heavy, then that’s where he should be fighting. They might do a catch, but that puts Huveneers at a distinct disadvantage; not only from size, but the fact that he’s had to cut weight and dehydrate and rehydrate while his opponent hasn’t done squat.

A catch would mean he’d have to drop more weight, and I don’t think he’s up for it. Lame.

any word on what weight Ironside was sposed to make? thats a massive weight advantage! But yes 10 pounds for guys who are sposed to fight at 85 is rediculous! shame on him!

    From Mike Hackert’s Facebook page:

“Had some issues making weight yesterday, a cut we had done succesfully before just wouldn’t happen regardless of how much time was put into.It was not intentional and we apologize to the other team. All we can do is learn from it, there are so many factors at work and obviously we missed something. Mike is ready to fight and if allowed to proceed he will make the most of his opportunity!”

got to love the commision out there, this makes no sense to me. 60 pound difference between Ironside vs Elam and they let the fight go. Then they dont allow the Huveneers vs Hackert fight due to 10.5 pounds. Also there is some obvious mis-matches aswel. Its not like they cant find good guys to fight some of these other fighters. not impressed. just my opinion
