The guys at Aggression did not disappoint as they put on a full card of evenly matched bouts.

Top MMA News choice for Fight of the Night goes to a stand up war between Trent Thorne and Jason Gorny. The two middleweights went toe-to-toe for the better part of two rounds until Gorny was able to pound him out putting an end to his 3 fight losing streak.

Ryan Ford vs. Johnny Davis
Round 1: Davis opens with a leg kick and Ford responds with a kick to the body. Ford looks to take the back but Davis shakes him off and presses him into the cage. Davis lands knees to the thigh of Ford before getting reversed. Ford releases and connects with a big right before Davis scoops him up and looks for the slam. Ford manages to stay on his feet but Davis presses him into the cage. Ford again switches positions and lands knees to the body followed by a solid knee to the face in the clinch. The two end up on the mat with Ford in north/south position landing big shots. The two get back to their feet and Ford again ties up against the cage and lands a double leg takedown. Ford transitions to the back and looks for the rear naked choke but is unable to sink the choke. The two get back to their feet and Davis secures a takedown to half guard. Round 2: Ford lands a pair of big lefts that open up a cut over the left eye of Davis. Ford follows up with a big knee and a takedown to guard. Ford stands up out of the guard and kicks the legs before referee Vern Gorman pauses the action to check on the cut. The fight restarts in the center of the cage and Ford connects with a right that prompts Davis to look for the takedown. Ford sprawls and defends and Davis looks for the another double leg against the cage which is again stuffed. Ford lands big rights to the head and body before moving to north/south and landing big shots. Ford continues to pound away with punches and hammerfists until the referee steps in to rescue Davis from any further punishment.

Diego Wilson vs. Josh Hill
Round 1: Wilson lands a leg kick followed by a combo and a pair of push kicks. Hill lands a leg kick followed by a takedown but Wilson springs right back to his feet. Hill presses him into the cage and begins to pepper the thighs with knees. After about 60 seconds of knees to the legs of Wilson the two separate and Hill lands a big right before forcing him into the cage and landing more knees. Wilson finally responds with a few knees of his own to the body and thigh. The final seconds of the round come to a close with Hill continuing to land knees to the thigh. Round 2: Hill lands a right and follows up with a leg kick. Wilson responds with a combo and a body kick. Wilson lands another combo with a body kick. Hill trips him to the mat but Wilson again pops back to his feet. Wilson lands body shots and Hill secures a takedown landing briefly in full guard before Wilson gets back to his feet. Hill presses him into the cage and lands more knees including one to the face. After a lull in the action referee John Braak implores them to “make something happen”. Both fighters trade knees and Hill secures a takedown to full guard. After a period of inactivity the two get back to their feet and Hill lands another takedown in the final ten seconds. Round 3: The two feel each other out to open the third round before Hill lands a big right followed by a body kick and then right back into the cage. The two separate and trade shots before Wilson throws a leg kick that is caught by Hill who uses it to secure a takedown to full mount. Wilson attempts to bridge out but can’t free himself. Round 4: After another feeling out process Hill comes forward with a pair of jabs and a takedown to full mount. Hill lands big shots which forces Wilson to give up his back but he spins right back to mount. Hill pounds away until Wilson again gives up his back. Hill lands more punches and hammerfists. Hill looks to sink the rear naked choke but Wilson defends the submission attempt beautifully. Hill continues to work the choke but Wilson again peels the hands off his neck. Round 5: Wilson lands a combo and Hill secures another takedown but Wilson scrambles back to his feet. Hill presses him into the cage and continues with knees to the thigh. Wilson responds with knees to the body and Hill secures a takedown to full guard. Wilson stays busy, landing shots from the bottom before Braak stands them up due to a lack of action. Wilson lands a kick to the body and Hill lands big rights and presses him into the cage. Hill lands a knee in the clinch and presses Wilson into the cage to end the round. Shane Campbell vs. Dave Mazany
Round 1: Huge leg kick lands by Campbell to open the round and Mazany ties up against cage. The two jockey for position before Campbell breaks off and throws a head kick. Mazany catches the kick and uses it for the takedown to full guard where he lands left and rights followed by a big elbow. Campbell escapes back to his feet is is forced into the cage again. Mazany scoops him up and drags him down to side control. Campbell replaces full guard but eats some short elbows. Mazany looks for a leg lock but Campbell slips out and lands hammer fists and big rights. The two get back to their feet and Mazany looks for a single leg but can’t drag him down, he lets go and lands knees and they tie up until the end of the round. Round 2: Campbell lands a leg kick and a combo. Mazany trips Campbell to side control. Campbell pushes off the cage but can’t get to his feet. Mazany looks for a straight armbar but Campbell defends and lands elbows from the bottom. Mazany lands shots from the guard and Campbell looks to stand but Mazany comes right back down with a big shot but Campbell tags him with one of his own. Campbell gets back to his feet and throws Mazany to the ground landing in side control and connecting with a short elbow. Mazany escapes back to his feet and is rocked by a big shot from Campbell. Mazany recovers and secures a takedown to full guard and lands a big right before Campbell is able to get to his feet. Round 3: Campbell lands a thunderous leg kick that echoes throughout the arena followed by a flying knee that stuns Mazany. Mazany looks for a single leg takedown but Campbell stuffs it and lands a knee to the head. Mazany drags him down with a double leg landing in full guard. Mazany is unable to get anything going before passing to side control and landing short elbows and rights. Campbell looks for a guillotine but lets go and gets back to his feet. Round 1: Lorenz shoots in for a takedown but gets caught in a guillotine. Lorenz escapes and separates. Romero throws a high kick that falls short and Lorenz responds with a pair of leg kicks. Lorenz secures a double leg takedown to half guard. Romero lands body shots and replaces full guard. Lorenz lands a solid right followed by a flurry of body shots and a nice short elbow. Round 2: Lorenz lands a leg kick and Romero misses a flying knee but follows up with a huge kick to the body. Lorenz secures a takedown landing in guard and connecting with a trio of big lefts followed by a pair of body shots and more lefts. Lorenz continues to punish the head and the body. Romero escapes to his feet and Lorenz forces him into the cage and gets the single leg. Round 3: Romero comes out sporting a nice hematoma on his forehead. Lorenz looks for a takedown but can’t complete it. Lorenz kicks the legs out from underneath Romero and lands kicks to the legs. Romero gets back to his feet and clips Lorenz with a high kick. A left from Lorenz connects and he just misses with a huge overhand right and lands a body kick. Romero lands a combo and the two both trade shots. Romero lands body shots and a combo from Lorenz connects. Lorenz lands another combo with a body kick. Kurt Southern vs. Brad Cardinal
Round 1: Southern tags him with a right and the two tie up. Cardinal lands a knee and Southern secures a takedown into full guard. After a brief lull in the action Cardinal gets back to his feet only to have Southern suplex him right back down landing in side control. Southern lands shot elbows and looks for an arm triangle. Southern jumps to the side and the choke looks deep. Cardinal is able top weather the storm and escape the submission. Cardinal gets back to half guard and chips away with punches. Referee John Braak urges them to “get busy”. Southern lands a left, stands up out of the guard and kicks the legs of his downed opponent. Round 2: Cardinal lands a leg kick and ties up before pulling guard. Southern lands body shots and Cardinal lands a right from the bottom. Braak implores them to work before finally standing the fighters up. Kurt lands a kick to the body and Cardinal responds with one of his own. Southern drags him down with a single leg and immediately passes to side control and looks for an arm triangle. Cardinal lands a big body shot and Southern releases the submission attempt. Cardinal lands knees to the body and attempts to push off the cage but Southern keeps him down and ends the round absorbing knees to the body from Cardinal. Southern hangs out in the half guard until Braak tells him to “make something happen”. Southern lands shots to the body before getting back to his feet. Cardinal lands leg kicks and body kicks which prompts Southern to look for the takedown to side control. Southern looks to stand up and eats an upkick on his way back down. Southern ends up in half guard and moves to side control, landing knees to the body. The two get back to their feet and Southern lands knees before Cardinal secures a guillotine. Trevor Wright vs. Evan Sanguin
Round 1: Wright lands a leg kick and Sanguin raises him with a pair of his own. Wright connects with a combo and Sanguin comes back with more leg kicks followed by a high kick. Wright secures a single leg to half guard and lands a short elbow. Wright gets back to his feet and lands knees against the cage. Sanguin looks for a kimura but it’s easily escaped by Wright. Wright peppers the body and thigh with knees, releases and lands a combo. Sanguin throws a body kick but Wright catches it and forces him into the cage. Wright lands a knee to the groin and the referee pauses the bout to give Sanguin time to recover. Sanguin lands a leg kick on the restart and Wright shoots in, getting caught in a guillotine. Wright hears the 10 second warning and hammers the body in an effort to free himself but he is unsuccessful and is choked unconscious with seconds left in the round.

Mukai Maromo vs. Tim Tamaki
Round 1: Maromo lands a shot followed by a pair of leg kicks. Tamaki responds with a few shots of his own before Maromo secures the muay thai clinch and and begins to blast the legs and body with vicious knees. Maromo drops Tamaki with a well placed knee to the body but Tamaki pops right back up and absorbs a few more knees. The two separate and trade bigs shots before Maromo again secures the clinch and peppers Tamaki with more knees. Tamaki looks to land knees of his own with little effect. Maromo lands a flying knee and clinches again, dropping Tamaki with a crushing knee to the body. maromo lands a big right and lets him to his feet only to take him right back down and sink the fight ending rear naked choke.

Round 1: Gorny opens with leg kicks and Thorne responds with body shots. Gorny lands a leg kick, a right and a pair of head kicks. The two trade wild shots in and Thorne emerges with a combo followed by body shots. Gorny drops him with a right and takes the back looking for a rear naked choke. Thorne escapes and is in the full guard before taking the back and landing shots. Thorne locks up a body triangle and looks for the rear naked choke. Round 2: The second round starts the same as the first with a leg kick from Gorny and body shots from Thorne. The two trade heavy, wild shots and Gorny lands a leg kick. The two again trade big, looping shots with nothing significant landing. A head kick from Gorny grazes the chin and Thorne lands more body shots. Gorny lands a combo and leg kicks and begins firing heavy shots at Thorne which are connecting. Gorny continues to land at will and Thorne responds with more body shots. Gorny lands a huge combo and leg kicks. Gorny continues to tag Thorne and finally chops him down with a leg kick and drops bombs on him until the referee steps in to call a halt to the fight with just seconds remaining.

Round 1: Dewsberry opens with a leg kick and a head kick and ties up against the cage. Dewsberry knees the leg and Scarcello secures the takedown to full guard. Dewsberry looks for an armbar but Scarcello pulls his arm free and moves to side control. Dewsberry ends up in full guard and lands short elbows. The two fighters get back to their feet and Dewsberry presses him into the cage before securing a double leg takedown. Scarcello scrambles and ends up in side control. Dewsberry gets back to half guard and Scarcello lands rights. Dewsberry connects with hammer fists from the bottom and both trade punches for the final 10 seconds. Round 2: Dewsberry lands a leg kick but slips to the mat. Scarcello follows him down into full guard and referee Kyle Cardinal pauses the action to wipe down Scarcello. Feeney escapes back to his feet and Carr lands knees before securing a takedown to half guard. Feeney sweeps and ends up in full guard landing shots. Carr throws up a triangle attempt and Feeney picks him up and executes a huge powerbomb slam but Carr scrambles and takes the back looking for a rear naked choke. Feeney fights the hands and defends the choke. Carr transitions to full mount and Feeney again sweeps and gets into the guard landing elbows. Carr gets back to his feet and secures a takedown to half guard and passes to mount. Feeney works back to his feet and lands a single leg to full guard. Round 3: Carr lands a combo followed by a kick to the body. Carr lands an errant knee to the groin and referee Kyle Cardinal gives Feeney a few minutes to recover. On the restart Carr lands a body kick and a double leg takedown to half guard and drives knees into the body. Carr lands a solid knee to the head on the ground and Cardinal calls time and takes a point away from Carr. The doctor comes in to check on Feeney who indicates that he can’t see and the doctor calls a halt to the fight. The judges scores were not announced.

    how does a judge score one round 48-47 when the other 2 score it 50-44 in the hill/wilson fight?

    how does cardinal win the third round by only winning the last 45 seconds? lorenz also landed more strikes than romero in the third to win that too!
