Wilson will sub him. Hill is legit but Diego is on another level.

Wilson has never competed with anyone even 40% as strong and athletic. Hill will be a shock to him.

If Wilson gets on his bike and makes round 1 boring and has a crazy gas tank he’s in this fight.

If he’s on his back early or hurt on the feet early by the much physically stronger fighter its not gonna look very good for him.

From what I’ve seen of Wilson, facing someone with strong striking and wrestling and a huge athletic advantage is the only kind of fight that might be really tough for him.
Awesome to see him and Adam stepping up for this test.
If he passes this test he is absolutely at the next level.
If not, he knows to get to that level he must take his wrestling and S&C training to the next level and become a physical beast himself.
If he’s shooting for the UFC one day he’ll need to know if he can handle these skilled superathletes, or if he has to become one to hang at that level.
    Career-wise its a win-win for him.

But fight-wise I’m seeing Hill winning this one.

Both great fighters, great fight at a great time.

  7. Hill has been impressive in his fights that I have seen but let’s remember that at the time of his fights, his best opponent was only 1-0 (Franczuz is now 3-1). I think it is Hill who should be applauded for making the step up to face Wilson.

Luis Huete is the best win on any of these guy’s resumes by far and Wilson so thoroughly dominated him that Huete started training with Wilson at ZUMA’s.

Its just the physicality that’s the big test here.

At the elite levels, especially at the lighter weights, there are guys who are superathletes, and the strength/explosiveness/physical dominance of those guys is a huge factor.

Josh is a 135 Gray Maynard type. Strong striking, solid wrestling and dominantly athletic.

That’s the prototype of what’s currently dominating (or at least a challenge that must be crossed) at 155 and under these days. Maynard, Uriah, Benavidez, Jim Miller, Brian Bowles, Mike Thomas Brown, Chad Mendes, etc etc etc

Yes, lotsa guys can beat this type of fighter, it is a prototype that is difficult to beat.
Guys who try this test and fail often go back and triple their efforts at their own S&C and try to add superathleticism to their own list of attributes.

Guys who take this test and pass learn that where they are at physically, when combined with their high skill level, is enough to move to the next level.

    Gonna be a good one.

Sadly, im gonna side with Robin. Hill, will likely win.
IMO neither of these guys have really fought anyone that is any good. I have no idea why they get so much hype for fighting scrubs. In the end, i dont think this fight really proves anything. They both need to start fighting tougher opponents.

i have had great pleasure fightin side by side with josh in and out a the ring and his record is leagues above 4-0 lol…. there are no weight classes where i come from so thats why little josh man is such a beast when fightin these little half pints. hill will take it in whatever fashion he likes, most likely the ground and pound which will force him to turlte and give up a rear naked choke….. till the next time your boy chucky… and how you been big cat?
