MFC Signs Marcus Davis

By:

Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis is the latest fighter to be signed by Maximum Fighting Championship. Davis, a huge fan favorite, was released by the UFC following consecutive losses to Nate Diaz and Jeremy Stephens.

Davis (17-8) will debut for the MFC at MFC 29 in Windsor, Ontario as announced by Mark Pavelich on the live HD Net telecast. There was no word on whether Davis would fight at Welterweight or Lightweight.

I remember Marcus Davis was supposed to be in the Toronto area for some meet and greets, etc. He called from the airport and they would not let him into the country…apparent issue from 17 years ago. I wasn’t hands on for it so that is all I remember – that was about 3 years ago maybe…

3 years ago I saw Davis in attendance at a TKO show in Montreal 4 seats over from me. He could clearly cross the border.

All I know is that he was booked for a showing and the guys that were picking him up at the airport called and said he wasn’t allowed in…all I know…I’m guessing at 3 years ago…I thought I remembered pics somewhere of a TKO show with him in attendance. Cheers.
