ECC Weigh-In Results
This afternoon Extreme Cage Combat is getting ready for its first event in a year in half when Redemption hits tomorrow night at Palooka’s Gym in Halifax. Most of the fights on the card will consist of up and comers in Maritime MMA. It will be the first time that an event in Halifax was not held at the Halifax Forum, which has been the main stay for the company. While the show may be smaller, the promoters are still happy with the final product.
“Like any event, you have to tailor it to the market and what is going on at the time,” says ECC promoter Peter Martell. “The ECC has a record of fighters that go places. The other day, I came along TJ Grant’s first contract when he fought at ECC 1 the other day. We have had guys like Jason MacDonald fight for us who have gone on to the UFC. Lots of guys who have fought for Canadian titles and won them. We have had many fighters who have gone on to do some great things. This is what this show is all about. We want guys to fight to move forward in their careers and make something of themselves.”
The show is expected to start 8 with the doors opening up at 6. There will be a small moment of silence for Tim Kelly, a former Titans fighter who was shot back in 2008.
