– LMFAO! Arm Triangle/Kimura round two? Are you fucking kidding me. Maybe Dan “The Work” Severn can fight Doktor Williams next?
Very sad to see what happened to the fighter in the second amateur fight. Don’t know if it’s just me but dont people go limp when they go unconscious from a blood choke? Buddy didn’t go limp, didn’t tap and was fine after the referee stepped in. They need to do something with the referees in NB. Not to mention the the illegal head kick to John Hachey down on both knees.
That’s the sad part?
Paul Harris was on this card as an amatuer?
That guy has great leg locks, watch out for when he eventually fights pro.
He’ll be back strong from this loss.
You guys want to talk about a bright up and commer ? Let’s talk about Troy Wilton! Come on stoppage due to strikes 1:04 into the first round now that’s impressive! His power is definitly something to watch for. I can’t wait to watch this guy fight again!
“BigBoi” you’re an idiot.
Watch out for Lyndon Whitlock.. he lost the fight but the boy has talent! Great fight, fight of the night for sure.
Currently the definition of a grounded opponent is defined as having more than one point of contact on the ground that is anything other than your two feet (hand, arm, back, knees, etc).
John Hachey was on one knee and there is nothing illegal to that so before you start flapping your lips cause your upset things didn’t go your way look up the actual rule. Oh and head kick or not Hachey never stood a chance with Johnson
there are alot of haters in this sport and no one wants to give credit when its due, in the Am circuit alot of guys are jealous of others success maybe that why they come on threads like this and ry to slander other guys preformance. I dont know just my opinion ohh and if you wanna see Hachey on i knee just check Johnson’s facebook page he got the video up…..Great win.
Its not “more than one” point of contact, it’s “any” point of contact other than the 2 feet make you a grounded opponent.
Quinn is correct. If knee on the ground, then you are grounded. Sounds like Hachey was grounded.
Just watched the fight. Johnson dominates the previously unbeaten Hachey. However, knee was on the ground so the fight ending kick was illegal. Too bad as Johnson was well on his way to finishing Hachey.
Very unfortunate ending to the fight. Should be ruled a no Contest.
Other than the last kick, was a very smart fight by Chris.
Great night of fights!!
@MAD – how did you see the video?
actualy i did rewatch the fight and the kick landed as hachey was triyng to get up and the knee was off the ground.
Its on Chris Johnson’s FB wall.
All I have to say is WHAT A GREAT NIGHT of fights.
Sold out venue 1800 + people. eople being turned away at the door.
Match ups were great. The fights were the best I’ve seen yet. Got off my seat a few times. The Maritime fighters are getting better with experience (comparing them to 2 years ago when Elite 1 started).
Lightshow, big sceens, professionalism in every angle, ring girls and Ring announcer all outstanding. Just keeps getting better and better.
Thought I would just put in a little POSITIVE feedback. We only seem to hear all the negative.
Hats off to the Elite 1 Team. Another GREAT show!
I like how Elite 1 is giving maritime fighters a place to fight regularly. This can only help develop better talent out east.
Hopefully there comes a time in the near future when Elite 1 brings in a guy from our top 10s and the Elite 1 guy beats him.
Chris Johnson clearly was winning the fight but its very obvious that John Hachey’s knee was on the ground prior to and at point of impact. Had Chris of waited 2 more seconds he would of got the stoppage he was earning. However, he didnt and rules are rules. It was an illegal kick and the fight should be ruled a n/c or dq. The ref said in the ring that if the knee was proved down that he would take the blame and it would be a DQ. Hats off to Chris as a competitor and someone for people to take notice of.
