UFC Drops Polish Hammer

The UFC has released Chris “The Polish Hammer” Horodecki, according to Sherdog.com. The London, Ontario native was 2-2 in the WEC and will have to put some wins together before fighting in the UFC.

Horodecki last fought Donald Cerrone and did well against Cowboy in the first round of their bout, but was submitted by a Triangle Choke in the second round. Prior to his loss, Horodecki had a two fight winning streak with victories over Ed Ratcliff and Danny Downes.
Unfortunately, that was not enough to keep Horodecki around in the UFC’s crowded Lightweight division.

Update: Jamie Varner was also cut from the UFC. Varner was winless in four fights since losing his WEC Lightweight title to Benson Henderson.
