  1. I’m really confused by the Rampage Vs Machida decision. I can understand that you can give the fight to Rampage. Nothing happened during the first two rounds except Rampage cutting the ring.

BUT, if you consider that Machida won his first fight with Shogun, the decision should have been his, because he lost that fight a lot less than he lost the first Shogun fight.

Miguel Torres resumed it best on Twitter: “Leaving a fight to the judges is like sleeping on the first date without protection. You never know what you’re gonna get”.

  2. Robin Black says:

Rampage did more damage, showed more aggression, and had all the octagon control in the first 2 rounds.

Therefore he won rounds 1 and 2. And the fight.

    Simple. :)

  3. Cody Rempel says:

I agree with Robin… it was mostly about the Octagon control and aggression!

  4. Robin Black says:

But even if we call those 2 criteria nonsense (which some people do and I definitely don’t fiercely disagree), Rampage did more damage in round 1 and round 2.

  5. I agree Rampage won (point scoring system wise), BUT now it puts the whole Machida vs Shogun scandal in a whole new light
