Ryan Healy to Face Kajan Johnson
The Maximum Fighting Championship has found a hard-hitting foe to step in as an injury replacement for a clash with “Ragin” Kajan Johnson at MFC 27: Breaking Point.
Ryan “The Irish Assassin” Healy (19-8-1) will take the place of originally scheduled opponent Orestes Betran and square-off against Johnson (17-11-1) in a lightweight bout set for Friday, November 12. Betran was shelved after sustaining a knee injury in training.
If the name – and face – look familiar, Healy is the twin brother of former MFC welterweight title-holder Pat “Bam Bam” Healy.
The Team Quest product and Portland, Oregon, native, will be riding a five-fight winning streak into the showdown with Johnson. Healy has not lost since October of last year and has a strong striking background thanks to a long stint in amateur boxing.
As a college boxer, Healy was a three-time All-American and 2004 national champion while competing for the University of Nevada-Reno. Since turning to MMA, Healy holds 11 knockouts among his 19 career victories.
One of the MFC’s most-exciting and charismatic 155-pound competitors, Johnson has won five of his last six fights including a second-round TKO stoppage of Josh Russell at Heat XC 4.
