What Province Produces Canada’s Top Fighters? Part II

By:

What provinces are Canada’s top fighters from?  Top MMA News has been asked this question a few times by fans and gyms across the country.   In June, Top MMA News answered the question by looking at who was in our top 10 (you can see that post here).  The answer then was British Columbia with 15 fighters in the Top 10 at that time.

Now, Top MMA News looks at it from another angle.  Which province has the most former and current UFC fighters?

Once again, this study is completely non-scientific.  Top MMA News examined the location of the 35 fighters who have fought in the UFC at this time.

Please note:

  • The WEC has not merged with the UFC yet so Yves Jabouin and Chris Horodecki are not included.  Hominick is though.
  • Fighters like John Makdessi, Jesse Bongfeldt, and Sean Pierson made their UFC appearances yet.

What province has the most former and current UFCers?  Ontario with 13.

Here are the totals by province:

Ontario 13
British Columbia 8
Quebec 7
Alberta 4
Manitoba 2
Nova Scotia 1

Here is a graphical look.
